| ROUND 7 - Surfers Paradise |
| |
| Surfers Paradise Report |
| Here we are. After 6 exicing races we reach the last one race of the season! Surfers Paradise was selected to held the race that will decide the champion of this great league. Things were pretty close between JoseSc and Frozen for the 1st place of the championship, and after this race, one of them will be our very great champion. |
Now talking about this race, in qualify, Frozen once again, got pole, followed by Danny3L with a gap of... 2.704 seconds! Third was JoseSc close to Danny3L. Only 9 cars showed up for this last race, as many teams seeying they loose the chances of winning, didnt wanted to race this one. And in race, only half of the grid finished the race. 1st was Walter976, that made a great and constant pace, and won his 1st race!. 2nd was locutus with his 1st podium in this league. And 3rd was JoseSc, scoring points heading the driver championship.

With so many action on the grid and through out the race, you can imagine it is impossible for us to give everyone the credit in the news they deserve. That's why we got user reports. Drivers can submit their own race review and we will include it in the news. For this round we start of with:
Zunik: I was very unconcentrated on grid and after start just collided with the fast right "chicane" that normally gets done flat out. My car got well fixed after a 60 seconds repair and I decided to take it easy. I was last after lap 1 but could escape from the multiple crashed people had, and thanks to my one sto strategy (2 after crash) I could climb to p2 with chances to win. Anyway I paid a big price to think I could win, as after my pit stop, first I half spun damaging a bit my car, and then spun again leaving it undriveable and needing another 60 second repair. After that I just drove to the end safely and finished one lap down the leader who had slower rythm but a safer one. Congrats to Walter for his first win in F1rst3!!! Well done! |

| ElkhartLake Report |
This was the pre-end race of the season. In EXP CasH, we dont know how, got thrusday pole seater, but after deadline,Frozen got pole. 2nd was locutus and 3rd was buatilla, leaving CasH in 4th position in qualify but 2nd for race! Race start was pretty clean, and most of them crossed the S/F line, but others ran out of fuel around 500m before the end! At the end, Frozen won another race, followed by buatilla and with... CasH 3rd?! In AMA, only IanStuart participated , but managed to finish the race! |
Next round is Surfers Paradise, round 7, BUT NOT LAST ROUND. One week after Surfers Paradise we will held a special CCWS event. It will consist on an oval race again, as many of you enjoied it a lot! Remember Saturday 22 March at 19:00 CET!

Frozen: "On pole again, I needed to relax and do a good race, the championship is ending and we are so close in the standings fighting for the champ. My start goes very well, I hold the first place and start to push. I quickly open a gap, not so easily as in Laguna, but still. I keep pushing hard all first stint and now the gap is bigger enough to start taking it easy and secure the win. My two stops go OK with a little mess in last stint fuel levels (too much). I got some lapped drivers that take too much time to let me pass, but all is ok because of my gap. I finally win the race, but the drama came to my championship rival in last lap when he had a PC failure. Not the way I would have liked it to be and I'm sorry for that bad luck, but the champ is pretty much in my favour now so I will have less pressure coming the last race."
CasH: Hi Admins, Newsreport from CasH, As you can see in pic1 we again had a BIG grid, with Frozen at pole and me on 2nd position, as I had the thursday pole! LOL! I guess it had to do with our Winter League F1, where we also did this track and I became Winter League Champion ;). After the start some offs by several drivers, like Bryan1 in screen 2. I had a pretty steady race, after a small off at the start myself as well.. In 4th position I tried to lap Keithyboy, but couldn't really see where he would let me pass. This hesitation led me going too close behind him through the fast right at the backstraight, getting the car on the grass. Not the best situation at about >310 kph! This resulted in exactly 4 (!) PERFECT 360's after which I could pick up pace again, only some extra heartbeats further. The rest was pretty ok again, finishing in 3rd position after JoséSc (just in front of me) lost connection in his last lap! Looking forward to Surfers! Doubt I will beat this result there... CasH |

| Laguna Seca Report |
| Still without leaving the USA, we moved ahead the famous Laguna Seca track. His most famous corner called "The corkscrew", challenge this time our super fast single seaters. And so on, the qualify finished on thrusday with Zunik once again doing pole, which was eclipsed by Frozen on friday, and released to 2nd position, while MarcF1 gained 3rd position. In race, the 1st corner was easy and the drivers managed to get his race position. Few people crashed during the 50 laps of the race, and the rest where happy for ending. Frozen made a pole-race win while veldt000 made his 1st 2nd position in this league, congrats! JoseSc finished 3rd closing the podium. In AMA only IanStuart had enough bravery to compete and finish! Congrats. |
Next round is ElkhartLake, round 6 out of 8. We´re heading to the end of the season and still the top 2 guys have only 3 points of difference! Good luck all and see you next round!

Frozen: The start was very good and I had a good gap from 2nd coming into the first corner. I wanted to open a gap in the earlier laps to get calm for the rest of the race and just cruise to a safe finish. And I did that, in the first four laps I tried to push quite hard and I indeed opened a big gap. From there I was feeling very, very confident with the car and just kept my pace very high not on my limit but quite close. The gap get bigger and bigger because of that and because of problems from other drivers. My only and late pit stop of the race went as planned, my tyres did hold the stint quiter well and in the last stint I was a little bit lighter so the car was better to drive and so the laptimes improved. Finally a nice win and easier than expected because I feared a little bit this track in which it's difficult to have a good pace with no mistakes. A perfect GP for me.
Zunik: Race should be fantastic as Frozen and me had front row. Race started with no problems and I was controlling the people behind me easily as I just couldn't follow Frozen's rythm. Then Vassilis started to push a little more and I raised my rythm. I did a silly mistake and hit the wall, as I came back on racing line, Vassilis was there and I tried to move off the racingline, thinking same as Vassilis, and we crashed -> Sorry!! Then in pit I made the second consecutive silly mistake as I forgot to press the limiter button. I tried to serve my S/G penalty in all ways, but due to a bug it wasn't resumed and I got DQ'd. Ruining an "easy" 1-2 for the team is what makes me more sad. |

Europeans doing ovals! |
|
|
|
| INDY Report |
| This time, we raced at the famous circuit of Indianapolis, doing the indy 500 layout. Europeans never expected such kind of racing could be so funny. Going over 360km/h side by side lap by lap never was so good. For qualify Zunik won the Thrusday Pole Seater in EXP while Snakey_Uk did in AMA. Final Qualify was JoseSC 1st, Zunik 2nd and buatilla 3rd. In AMA Kimi_1 was 1st, Snakey_Uk 2nd and IanStuart 3rd. |
Race was as exicing as we thought. Going side by side in groups. Some had problems when braking for pitstops, others, had contacts with other drivers. But after 100 laps, in EXP Zunik won his 1st race in CCWS championship this year. MaxMotus was 2nd, starting from the back of the grid, and Edwards was 3rd. In AMA, Snakey_Uk managed to win this race, Kimi_1 was 2nd and IanStuart was 3rd. After such an exciting race, we head towards Laguna Seca and his Corscrew. Good luck all and see you there!

CasH: First time ever on an oval. We practiced a bit and the speed seemed pretty equal. FUN guaranteed! I didn't know which positions I had during race, as I was annoyed by my setup I switched a minute before Race start. It was just different than the one I tested... Excuses, but still :P. The race itself was pretty ok, best action with Veldt000 and Chavvy Edwards :). I however got 'bored' and unconcentrated and slightly hit some walls now and then, resulting in some damage to my car, which didn't do any good to my topspeed without draft. After my first stop... OMG, NO one around to get some slipstream, so dropping even more back fast. Just after my second stop, some concentration 'gap' again and now a MAJOR kiss in the wall.... finish.... Looking forward to Laguna, on which my PCC race was superb, so hopefully CCWS will be equally exciting!
Zunik: Hi! 2nd win in f1rst3 in 122 races. Not the percentage Chav has, so imagine how happy I am!! Regarding the race it was all about strategy. I had a little wheel spin in start that caused I wasn't in the lead group. Nevertheless there were little incidences in front and by lap 20 we were a group of 5 in top. Anyway all 1st stint was with my spotter shouting all the time: inside, outside, three wide!! It was very difficult sometimes not to crash, but I managed it with only one touch with wall. And here comes my tactic: I was conservative and stayed most of the time behind the group, with allowed then to do an extra lap and pit with no traffic. When I exited I was 1st with 5 seconds lead. Although the people behind were closing the gap I managed to enter pits with same distance and when I came out veldt helped me to maintain (and even increase) the distance. As return he gained one position. Very clever Veldt!! Pitty Frozen had a wall collision, else maybe it would have been a 1-2 for the team! Hmm that was long :P |

| Denver Report |
Here we go again. Now we headed to Denver, a nice and wide street track surrounded by walls and more walls. In EXP qualify, Zunik got pole both thrusday and friday, and JoseSc managed 2nd position. 3rd was Jeeves. In AMA, just 3 brave guys qualified in this order: Snakey_Uk, IanStuart and Flyer23. For EXP race, Zunik had to race alone, while the rest managed to get to the grid. Some of them coudnt reach the grid and had to start from pits. JoseSc dominated the race and won, with Frozen, who had an argue with his team by radio, coudnt refuel the 1st time due to a strike in the middle of the race, but finally could and finished 2nd, and Zunik 3rd. |
AMA race was another world. Just 2 cars could made it and started, while Flyer23 had to race alone but won the race, while Snakey_Uk finished 2nd and IanStuart finished 3rd. Now we head into Indy 500 track. It´s a fast one! So give your best and qualify for next race! You only have until Friday 1 of February!

Jeeves: "Ah well, at least one can't say the race was boring. I completely screwed up the start, hadn't practiced it. Hit the throttle and let go of the clutch --> wheelspin, eek! :D --> dropped the revs and almost stalled it. Sorry for the folks who got into trouble in T1 because of me (going into the turn like a snail) being overly careful. Didn't want to hit anyone, but driving like a granny isn't too good of an option either. Had fun dodging front wings and trying to catch Pascal for a few laps, until I spun. After a few laps I caught the Lowlander again, got this mother-of-all-understeers while driving behind him, tried to "drive around it" and hit the wall. Limped to the pits and got my car repaired (amazing what those chaps can do in just 40 seconds :D), got back and noticed that I'm a backmarker. I politely let the guys overtake me before I tested the strength of those concrete barriers again. After that, I had some maneuverability issues (imagine) and spun the car right in front of Frozen. Sorry about that one mate, just couldn't help it. Went to pits again, took some 35 laps of fuel, hard tyres and went back, desperately trying to make it to the finish line. At approximately 20 laps to go, I lost connection with the server and that was pretty much the ideal ending for my misérablé race. Seeya at Indianapolis then, chaps. Can't wait for another one. :P" |
Conclusion:
After this street race we move forward to Indy. |

Victory for MarcF1 |
|
|
|
| Montreal Report |
| Montreal, what an event! Qualifying was cleaned up with JoseSC taking pole position from Zunik and MarcF1 taking 3rd positin. It was certainly going to be a tight start on the run down to T1 with the track narrowing so fast. The engines fired into action and as the redlights went out it was JoseSC who made the best start with Zunik losing out to MarcF1 on the run to T1. CasH held the inside line to gain a position on Buittila as they rounded T1 but with Tygernoot trying to folow through it all got messy on the exit..! Buittila got sideways and as a few cars slipped through Walter was unable to avoid him and made rear contact leaving minor damage. Meanwhile back at the front JoseSC lost his rear end on the kerbs at Turn 2 leaving him to pinball the outside wall and drop back behind CasH. However the gap shrunk slightly as CasH made a small mistake at the final chicane on lap 1, but out front it was still MarcF1. However over the next few laps Tygernoot managed to slip ahead of JoseSC and meanwhile Veld came pressure from CasH which resulted in him spinning at the final chicane while Zunik started to edge away after his poor start! |
The race continused with MarcF1 out front with Zunik giving chase but the man on the move was JoseSc climbing back up the order. The battle raged on between Tygernoot and CasH until the later managed to park it in the wall exiting the first chicane after making a earlier mistake allowing Tygernoot to slip past! Tigger soon passed Zunik only to spin and go a few places back. Everything started to settle down with the exception on MaxMotus who between corners was puking in his helmet and then couldnt see out of his visor resulting in a few frequent visits to the pits for repairs! With pits stops out of the way MarcF1 continued to lead eventually bringing it home ahead of JoseSC and Tygernoot. However Frozan managed to put in a super time alone to make it onto the podium. Chacal meanwhile battled with Keithyboy and Newty to fill out the top 10! AMA proved to be a small but tight battle between Flyer23, IanStuart and Freethinker with Flyer coming home on top after the 25 lap sprint. Congratulations to all on some good clean racing!

CasH: "Starting on my favourite track (well, according my 'fast' laptimes) ;). The start itself was a bummer... Veldt000 overtook me right away and I was wondering why. Then I noticed my pitlimiter was activated! :D. Guess I can call it 'a Hamilton' :P. Off we were and on good pace! I started from 5th on the grid but keep ut with the rest easily and even challenge JoséSc and Zunik for speed! Amazing! Had a ten lap battle with Zunik, which was awesome! I wondered why he was 'so slow' and later I heard he had terrible frame rate problems. Sorry for that! Unfortunately when being in 3rd position I had a stupid crash caused by taking a curb wrong, smashing me in a bit too solid wall. That cost me 70 seconds in the pits (and the 3/4 lap limping to it without front wing and bent suspension). The great thing however is the crew (which I pay LOTS! :P) fixed EVERYTHING so I could continue this great race! Resulting in a 9th position still and doing even the third best laptime! Looking forward to next race! "
Zunik: "My race was ruined as I pressed the race button. I found myself on grid on 10fps. All I could do is disable the mirrors and hope to avoid a first turn massacre. I was lucky in start and noone placed his cars near mine (imagine how I could react on 10fps). I hoped and prayed that fps increased as the laps passed. Nonetheless fps rised to a top of 18fps.. undriveable. My pace was slowed down between 1-2 seconds a lap, so being on 2nd placed I started to be pushed. Thanks to a bit better top speed I could defend my position during 20 laps, being passed only by Tygernoot (almost take him off as I couldn't use mirrors) who just after did a spin and found himself on the back of Zunik's steam locomotive. Then on lap 21 I did my first error when trying to rise a bit my pace, with no way to react as I found myself on the wall in 2 frames. After that I couldn't adapt to damaged car and collided twice more leaving the car very damaged and with the fear I could cause an accident so I just pressed ESC. :'( :'( . ."
MarcF1:
I started in P3 because Frozen raced alone. I got a good start and passed Zunik and got P2. At turn 4 Jose did a mistake and spun and I was able to take P1. Not much happened until my 1st and hopefully last stop on lap 25. The crew was fast (only 13 secs). It was the right strategy because most of the guys were on a 2 stopper. Then, on lap 28 Walter spun on turn 2 and was in the middle of the track. I could avoid him and continued racing. On lap 31, I had some trouble trying to pass Karliss as he didn`t let me through easily. On lap 41, Max Motus spun on turn 10 and I couldnt avoid him. I hit him but luckily I got no damage at all. Then, on the last lap, Karliss again made hard to pass him. Overall it was a great race because I raced consistently and no mistakes. I hope to continue like that in future races!!! See you guys on the next round at Denver
Flyer23
Here is my AMA race. I did a no stopper and short shifted most of the race and coasted allot. Ran out of fuel going across the line. I was lucky. |
Conclusion:
After the high speed sweeps in Canada we go back to the streets.. and to Denver Colorado. These are not just any streets, these are the super fast inner city streets! Look out for the action! |

| Long Beach Report |
| This was the first race of the year. The venue was held at the street track of Long Beach. Wide roads mixed with strong concrete walls. In qualify, RicardoFerreria managed to steal pole on friday from Zunik, the thrusday pole seater guy, who improved one sec from one day to another. Third place was filled with a slower lap (almost 1 sec from pole) by MaxMotus. In AMA, thrusday pole seater was NMansell, who was beated by LulaSenna on friday, and with IanStuart in 3rd place. |
The race in EXP was formed by 23 drivers in one heat. Start was tricky, after some marshalling problems with grid caused by ama spanish marshall, and due to cold brakes & tyres. T1 became a mess, where Zunik had to retire and others had damage all over the car. After a few laps the chaos stabilized and despite some fights and lappings, race was way more clean. At the end, Frozen claimed 1st place, followed by MaxMotus, and 3rd was JoseSc. AMA race was cleaner, and LulaSenna showed his best performance and won the race, followed by NMansell one and a half minutes later, and IanStuart 5 mins behind.
