Congratulations to all drivers! |
F1RST M3C Challenge Cup reaches it's final! Brand new champs are Alligator80 (France) in EXP class, and TopSan (Germany) in AMA class. Before the final race in Kyalami Alligator80 was in comfortable lead in EXP class, but as the final race shows there were no "taking it easy and securing the championship" as he takes the win of the Kyalami race. With winning two races, getting one pole position and taking the podium finish in every race, he had really good consistency winning the championship with 458 points, 120 points gap to the second. Congratulations and well done! At AMA class TopSan had still job to do in last race, but finishing before Swordfisher (Germany) sealed the deal and he can now call himself as a championship winner. With really impressive "5 in a row" pole positions, and two race wins it's no wonder why he clinched the title. He also finished in the top 3 on every race, so really good consistency there too. Congratulations and well done! <speech>Thank you all, it's been great to be the Admin of this M3C Cup. Really impressive driving, and what's most important, really good team spirit from you All. There were some problems during this season, but everyone who sticked with this championship, I bow to you and hope to see you in race track with lots of fun action!</speech> Cheers all!

Last race of the season is starting! |
M3C Challenge Cup's season finale is about to start, with qualifyings already done. Yet there isn't a champion decided in either EXP or AMA classes. Alligator80 (France) leads EXP class with 79 points to Roadrunner (Germany), so he only needs 1 single point to secure the M3C EXP title. In AMA class TopSan (Germany) leads Bobster (USA) with 16 points so he'll need 14 points from Kyalami race to clinch his title. Both of the championship leaders won their qualifyings now so they are the favourites to win the races. But, as we know motorsport is a difficult one to predict what happends :) Let's see who's got the nerves to finish first in this race! Top three EXP qual: 1ST Alligator80, 2ND caterkiller2001 (France), 3RD [BPR]Splinter (Germany). Top three AMA qual: 1ST TopSan, 2ND NothingForThis (Malaysia), 3RD Bobster.

Problems in Vancouver results... |
The results you currently see from Vancover, aren't fully true as there is few players who had done their races but results show as DNS. Don't worry, this will be corrected as soon as possible and the results can be seen right. Good luck now with Kyalami qualifying, it will be for now the last official league race in M3C Mod! Track is really nice so also have much fun out there :)

No suprises at Vancouver qualifying |
Like in Mugello, pole positions go to caterkiller2001 (France) in EXP class, and to TopSan (Germany) in AMA class with really fast laps. Second in EXP class was DiaBoliCal (Germany) who was only 0.044 seconds slower than caterkiller2001. Third was Alligator80 (France) with 0.516 seconds gap to winner. With this close qualifying laps, and really narrow track... Race will definetely be exciting! In AMA class, second was Bobster (USA) with 1.32 seconds gap to TopSan, and third was Swordfisher (Germany) with 1.676 seconds gap to winner. Looks like TopSan is getting away in the standings if he continues his streak, but anything can happen here. Bobster is also closing gbriden (Canada) in the standings, so finishing the races from now on is really important.

New Grids |
3 drivers had problems submitting during qualification, and they have now been added to the final qualifications and grids have been re-processed. The existing Heat Org topics will NOT be deleted, but please re-check the grids, they may have been altered with the addition of these late qualification laps.

Race 4/5: Vancouver, Canada. 33/16 laps, 59/29 km |
As we fly over the Atlantic sea to Canada, we have to concentrate really hard for the next event, the Vancouver temporary street track. It's known best for the CART race, but this time there will be no open-wheel cars on track, just BMW's. The track is really narrow and it's completely different than other events in M3C Cup schedule. Qualifying is much more important, as it's really hard to overtake here. Those, who can be the most consistent in the race, are high on the results. Be cafeful out there! Germans conquer Italy |
Cars have crossed the finish line at Mugello, and in the EXP class it was very tight, as the winning gap was only 1.45 seconds. DiaBoliCal (Germany) scores his first win in front of Alligator80 (France) who extends his championship lead with second place. Third was TimS (USA) who finished 7.6 seconds behind the winner. Really close race this time, congratulate yourselves! In AMA class TopSan (Germany) got his second win in row, finishing almost 50 seconds before Bobster (USA). gbriden (Canada) finished third with 53.5 seconds gap to winner. He's now leading championship with three points more than the next, TopSan. It's getting close with only two races remaining.

caterkiller2001 and TopSan for second qual success |
Mugello qualifyings are over. This time there are no new polesitters, as in EXP qual caterkiller2001 (France) clinched the 1st position with 1 second gap to 2nd, [BRP]Splinter (Germany). Gap between 2nd and 3rd, Alligator80 (France) was only 0.001 seconds, so it was extremely close! At AMA class TopSan (Germany) continues dominating, as this time he got pole position with impressive, almost 3 seconds gap to 2nd, Bobster (USA). Third was Swordfisher (Germany), with 5.4 seconds gap to the winner. In the first M3C race there were total of 40 drivers, and in this qualifying session there were sadly only 23 drivers. A big thanks to drivers who have sticked with this season, I hope to see you at Vancouver and season finale Kyalami also!

Race 3/5: Mugello, Italy. 21/10 laps, 110/52,5 km |
Italians know how to make a great sport event, and what would be greater than to move to Mugello, especially when an italian driver is leading EXP championship with two wins. Also, expect to see lots of german fans at AMA class as their driver dominated the previous race at Sugo. The modern Mugello racetrack itself - opened in 1974 - is a long track with 5,245 km lap, and it hosts several big venues as ITC, Suberbikes and FIA GTI Champs. The track is very varied, as there are straights and curves almost equally. There are also lots of ups and downs, which really makes it a fun track for the drivers. Good luck all, make it a great event! Official Mugello website: http://www.mugellocircuit.it

MaxD and TopSan manage to cross finish line first |
Chequered flag is waved at Sugo, and that means success for MaxD (Italy) in EXP class, and for TopSan (Germany) in AMA class. There were total of 32 drivers qualified for the race, and 30 showed up so that was really good percentage. Way to go, BMW Cup drivers! EXP class was tight, as 4 drivers were inside 10 seconds at the finish line, tosch (Germany) ending up 2nd, and Alligator80 (France) 3rd. The winner, MaxD was really prepared himself and his car for this event, as he made fastest lap - 1:46.457, being one second faster than anyone in EXP class. At AMA class, the winner, TopSan also did a great fastest lap - 1:46.974, being 0.6 seconds faster than the next fastest, Kimi (Netherlands) who also placed 2nd at the end. 3rd was Bobster (USA) who kept his 3rd place where he was after qualifying session.

Tight action at Sugo qualifying |
With only - 0.068 seconds gap, caterkiller2001 (France) gets the pole in the really tight Sugo EXP qualifying. First 5 drivers drove their lap inside 0.330 seconds, so expect a really close fight in the race! MaxD (Italy) who got the pole in Australia race, was 2nd this time, and third was Alligator80 (France) with + 0.107 second gap to the winner. At AMA qualifying, TopSan (Germany) clinched the pole with style, with more than one second to Swordfisher (Germany). Third was Bobster (USA) with almost 3 seconds gap to the winner. Sadly, there were only 7 drivers who qualified for AMA class at Sugo, hope more will qual in next race at Mugello.

Race 2/5: Sugo, Japan. 23 laps, total of 89,9 km |
Time to head your cars from Australia to Japan. The Sugo track is located 300 km from Tokyo, and besides it's superb road course, it also features international kart course, motocross track and a trial zone. Of course, we're still not that much interested anything else but the road course where are two very long straights and variety of really hard turns. Especially the end of lap is extremely difficult to master 23 times in the race - he, who can be the most consistent will be very high on the results, rather than the hotlap drivers. Melbourne qualifying complete |
The first M3C Cup qualifying is now completed, and there were lots of excellent laps. In Expert class MaxD (Italy) drove to the pole position with time 2:12.893, and gap to 2nd, Alligator80 (France) was + 0.264. Third place goes to RiccaGT (Italy), + 0.400 behind the winner. In Amateur class TopSan (Germany) clinches the pole with excellent 2:12:899 lap, leaving caterkiller2001 (France) + 0.618 seconds behind. Third was the only non-european driver in top 3's, NedRyerson (USA) with + 1.059 behind the winner. Expect to see close finishes in the races, the first race in season is always a mystery. Good luck everyone!

Race 1/5: Melbourne, Australia. 24 laps, 127,3 km |
The fantastic Albert Park circuit is of course most known for it's F1 race. The 5.3 km street circuit is the longest track in M3C 2003 schedule and it holds great surroundings for all the spectators, and for the racing teams. Track has many slow almost or over 90-degree turns after long and fast straights, so setting your brake balance and your top speeds right is really important. Because of the long straights, it also allows overtaking in the braking points much more than most of the street circuits. As this is the first race of the M3C season, it's interesting to see which drivers get to the top in qualifying and of course who can be the most consistent throughout the race. Good luck everyone, and remember to have fun! Official Albert Park website: http://www.grandprix.com.au
