Congratulations - MaxMotus and DJCruicky.

Congratulations to the Winners of the Mini League championships, MaxMotus winner of EXP and DJCruicky of AMA. The Teams Championship has been dominated by Don't Lift Racing which has taken 2 places on the EXP podium & Top step of the AMA podium! Vegas Crew show Americans can go round bends by taking a superb second! Also congratulations to EAK Motorsports for Winning his home race! Mike_Nap wins most improved driver after some stunning results to finish off the season!  In AMA the final few races were very hard fought amoungst the top 5 drivers and showing DJ Cruicky didn't get it all his own way! Look out in the future for rising talent Doctor-Q. And finally thank you to SidewaysFast for his drift antics!

Rnd 5 - Sachsenring, West Saxony, Germany - Race.

Sachsenring proved to be a race of tyre wear and staying on! With some of the drivers travel arrangements going sour they decide to had for Brazil, but those who did make it...  it certainly was a hard race!

EXP proved interesting with Jlittlejohn taking the lead early on from SidewaysFast and VTW. While MaxMotus stopped off in the last turn Sand trap twice in 2 laps to build a pretty sizeble sand Castle!  Once construction had finished he rejoined VTW and SF for 5 laps of battling while JLJ drove into the distance! The order broke out into Max, SF and VTW who then all drove past JLJ while his tyres went off as fast as an Ice Cube in Coffee!  Mike Napp dominated the state side attack until a pit timimg error which then found him in the officails office along with Ricardo and Migualpt! These all escaped penalties when we discovered the Cheif timing officer and secretary in a comprimsed position over timinig computor! So with that soughted Migualpt lead home Speed-jogy and Walnut after Harryflatters dropped it in a local ditch on the way to the track...

AMA showed the competition level is hotting up with Loadi pushing hard leading decrew home in TZA while trying to pace himself against TZB. DJ Cruicky notched up another victory after leading home a good effort from newbie Edwards who suffer a visit to the officials office after a little close action with Doctor-Q! Loadi's pace was just enough to squeeze into second place and puching Edwards into a close 3rd!

The Teams now head to Brazil to meet up with the missing posy....

Rnd 5 - Sachsenring, West Saxony, Germany - Qualifying

The racers have now moved into West Saxony for the Sachsenring race. The circuit offers a twisty hill side section before dropping downhill into a fast chicane which then leads into the longest straight. Qualifying was a lottery of getting to grips with the Mini's front wheel drive in those twisty sections. 

EXP saw a hard fight between fellow Don't Lift Racing's VTW and jlittlejohn following on from Osterrichring. VTW set the pace before jlittlejohn slipped ahead in the dying moments but was left spinning in the track after MaxMotus set a blinding pace. Netobrito who had also set equally quick pace in testing ran out of fuel during qualifying. EAK motorsports also jumped in there at the end after suffering Navigation issues getting to the circuit, he had travelled with Speed-jogy after a small holiday in Austria, meanwhile SidewaysFast, Ricardo and Migualpt had there own battle for the final top ten places.

Mike Napp who left Austria to come straight to Sachsenring to get early testing was lost in the local area all week and just made it onto the track in time to catch the chequered flag..  The rest of the American effort qualified early and then popped back to Austria to get some final skiing in before they have to fly back state side.

AMA had its own surprises, Edwards is a new entry and posted a respectable time just behind Osterrichring winner Loadi. dewcrew suffered a puncture in qualifying and had left his spare in Austria... Doctor -Q followed DJ Cruicky home for a well earned 2nd place while the rest of the AMA crews remain at the boarder crossing for some kind of questioning...

All Looks set for an exciting race here in West Saxony...

Championship Schedule Update.

Mini Cooper Cup Winter  schedule has been updated with the addition of the final 2 rounds to be held at Long Beach and Dijon-Prenois. 

The Mini's will be able to experience the twists and turns of the Long beach street circuit and then move to the fast flowing Dijon Prenois, both of which are ex Grand prix circuits.

The circuits are available for download from puma.

Rnd 4 - Osterrichring, Austria - Race

Tom sends his love from the desert and was upset to have missed the iced race of the series at Nordschleife and the pre Tilk-ed circuit of Osterrichring, so guess i better catch up with news from Austria. Hopefully Tom will be back to report on our next visit to Germany at Sachsenring.

EXP was full of surprises...  Firstly reigning champion Netobrito returned to Mini Cooper cup and just edged out a close run from series leader MaxMotus. While the next surprise was that SidewaysFast's style was at last successful in Austria (see inset), dropping into 3rd ahead of experienced racer VTW. He himself  had diced race long with Nords winner jlittlejohn. Mike Napp held the US honours up while Migualpt suffered some kind of electrical gremlin causing CTD, and Timo's pitcrew downed tools after they didn't get their bacon butties before morning warmup!

AMA was hosting not only the race but also the first World Mini Cooper High jump competition after Ricardo set the long jump world record at Nords. High Jump results here. The race however was won by Loadi in style, but Doctor Q the new hotshot in AMA was not too far behind after setting some great times in qualifying. Is DJ Cruicky slipping...? Feret unfortunatly after "walling it" in nords suffer another blow to his championship by getting snowed in up in the highlands.

Now the teams have packed up and are heading back into Germany for Sachsenring...

Rnd 3 - Nordschleife, Germany - Race

News follows shortly....    In the mean time anybody seen Tom. Looks like he got lost somewhere south of Dakar. Had a report from Colin than he was seen mid desert...

Rnd 3 - Nordschleife, Germany - Qualifying

With precisely a season average turn out for the 3rd round of the F1RST Mini Winter League the Green Hell Specialists appear to have stayed away – fearful of the potent power provided by the mighty Mini Cooper’s no doubt. 30 cars line-up for what promises to be the hardest race to date for the little would be BMW’s.

A frantic amount of testing couldn’t hide the fact that those with “the knowledge” would be racing with a distinct advantage over the “non believers”, although this theory was dropped on its head with the appearance of Comrade Doctor-Q. The rapid Russian 1st drove the infamous ‘Ring only 7 days prior to the close of entries and, after fitting in a defection to the west to fly the Union Jack, subsequently dropped Phoenix race winner feret from the front row of the TZB Ama heat! Now pole sitter DJCruicky has 4 headlights looming in his mirrors!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

We have now completed the Qualifying for the 3rd round of championship at the Nordscleife and we will be taking a short break till January 4th when everybody should have recovered from Holiday Celebrations... to start the race week.

I would just like to take this oppertunity to not only wish everybody a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, but from all at F1RST thank you for your support of the Mini Cooper League. The season so far has been lots of fun!

Rnd 2 - Firebird Raceway, Phoenix USA - Race

With TZA racing early EAKMotorsports lined up on pole for the expert heat knowing that he would have to push hard all the way to lodge a race time that would worry the leading Europeans. Hackymoto got sun stroke prior to the start and decided to watch from the sidelines, iced-Coke in hand as Mike_Nap got the drop when the lights went out and, sharing the front row with EAK, nudged into the lead from the off. At the back, DarkGT got the best start of all having to dodge sarsipius, who had dozed off on the line. porous had 'best seat in the house' for the lead battle heading into turn 1 from P3 but was busy watching his mirrors as DarkGT loomed larger.

Rnd 2 - Firebird Raceway, Phoenix USA - Qualifying

Pre-season predications proved spot-on for the closest ever Mini qualifying for the 2nd round of the F1RST Mini Winter League at Firebird Raceway, Phoenix. With less than 1 second seperating 1st to 13th! the 106 lap race will be a lottery of tyre wear and fuel calculations.

The early pace was set by jlittlejohn who shocked a few runners into heading back into the garage to re-think their setups and make them even more weird! He was joined by Ricardo and the 2 looked in a strong position for pole honours until MaxMotus delivered his hammer blow with a personnal best over a tenth of a second clear of the previous pace setters. Rumour has it that Max employed an oval specialist and a team of dedicated telemetry engineers after he got lost with asymetric setups, and for the first time struggled until his car became banana shaped for the 2 turn oval - we dont think Jean Todt was involved, but...

Mid Ohio Rnd 1 - Race

With the action almost over from Mid Ohio we can see final results for AMA and looks like DJ Cruicky has started where he left off last season! Loadi and SidewaysFast fighting it out behind while they try and close the gap! Also in ther El Supremo ans styckis!

We are still waiting the Final results for EXP so results will remain provisional until all are completed.

So we know move onto Pheonix Oval and this will without a doubt based on current test times being bashed around the paddock be the closest Mini League Race EVER! So get testing, remember Qualifying finishes on Monday 00.00CET

Mid Ohio Rnd 1 - Qualifying.

Action, Action in final minutes of qualifying for Mid Ohio! The EXP grid went right until the last few minutes to be decided with 4 drivers still runinig in the closing minutes. But with a last ditch run MaxMotus came out on top over Migualpt who held the top spot for a short time after knocking jlittlejohn into second. 

In AMA DJ (image) put his pole lap in early and left Loadi and El Supremo wondering where to find the extra time!

Well done Guys, a great turn out for the first round!

Championship Schedule Update.

Mini Cooper Cup Winter  schedule is now completed with the addition of the final 2 rounds to be held at Sachsenring and Interlagos.  These tracks will be available for testing in client once the new client update is active on December 1st 2004.

The New Mini Cooper Cup is GO GO GO!

After a few weeks of anticipation the new Mini Cooper Cup is GO!  The season will start November and will continue upto Chritmas with a small break for the festivities!  Then we'll be all action again in January!

The New season will commence 15th November in Lexington at the Mid Ohio Sportscar Course. The twisting turning track will create a great source of entertainment in the Mini Coopers.

Rumours float the Pits and Paddock former champion Claus J will be out trying to claim back the top spot in Mini from Summer Champion Netobrito in EXP. We should also see some great action between Mad, VTW and Miguelpt, while EAKMotorsports also up there fighting! While in AMA DJCruicky will be playing hard ball with the fast improving feret.  Loadi and El Supremo could also be here to take on these guys, not to mention last seasons early championship leader SpruceBruce.

Mini League - Winter 2004

This new season is not far away now, track testing has commenced for final selection and then the final schedule will be created for teams to view.

It is with great pleasure that we able to announce the 2 Marshal's that will be making sure we have not only a great schedule but also keep an eye on all you hard racers out there.

Lazytech will again be digging out those flags and performing his usual top job, and along side him we have a new man to F1RST marshalling, but is ready to take up the challenge Mad.
