THE most spectacular track and race in the world! After our Team visiting Sean Edwards (see previous news) there, we of course were extra excited to see and join the races in our League!
Qualify EXP was pretty close all over the heat, except for Edwards having a gap of over half a second to second placed man Ricardoferreira. Don't feel ashamed Ric, Sean practiced over a week there! We have proof ;).
ricardoferreira powers round Blanchimont to go P2 in qualy (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
The race itself was a hard one, looking at the results. Of course Sean led the pack from start, but behind him all kinds of action took place! Many, believing to have a good finish, came to different conclusions during the fierce battles all over the field! Ricardoferreira had to give up being in second place, with a blown engine. Yours truely was hoping for about 4th place, until 3 laps before the finish, JUST after Eau Rouge, a huge cloud of smoke arose in front, with no car visible. Braking and hoping there was no car somewhere in the mist, disaster struck for both me and Frozen. He appeared out of the smoke, too late to be avoided by poor CasH. All this giving even more hope for the guys chasing.
Frozen loses it at Eau Rouge and collects CasH (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
After also Tygernoot, in second place, being distracted by his ringing cellphone (WTF? Which driver has his cellphone near when driving such important race?!?!), crashed, limping back the last laps, this gave way for Avni_Tumay and Zunik to score BIG after being in pretty modest positions at the start of the race.
zunik bagged third for Serviola Spanish Team (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
The Championship battle between Tygernoot and Edwards was taken to the extreme here. Tygernoot, after his phone stunt, limping back one lap down, was glad to have to do one lap less on three wheels. Brilliant Edwards however knew Tygernoot would still be second, so stopped before the finish line, to force Tygernoot do do another lap! Thus 'giving' Tygernoot 4th instead of second position. |
I can tell you the LRT Captain was not pleased about this!
Edwards had plenty of time in hand at the end (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
The AMA Race was again a mainly Brazilian matter.
Pole in Qualify again for Lulasenna and in the race, his fellow countryman Josimario_carvalho joined him on the podium in second place.

Snakey_UK took 3rd, while Belgian 'Home driver' Kuschall JUST missed the podium, finishing in a good 4th position! Must be a good feeling on your home track!

Due to the difficulty of the track and of course her persistance to get a great result, A_C_Muller got her best result ever, finishing 7th. Of course helped by the talisman given to her a few days before the race :).

Race Reports, AMA movie by Ghost_Chr below!
Heat EXP; by Ricardoferreira: "I had a great start, but Juan and u pass me easily (no top speed), when Juan spun, i lose few seconds there, too avoid crash and lose the P2 too casel and P3 too MJ. But my setup is very good in 2 and 3 Sectors, but in Sector 1, no top speed, so i can´t pass Casel or MJ in S1.. 2 laps later Casel crash, and i pass MJ. Anyway.. good race for me (seems my best times in F1C\AMA very consistency and fast) shame i lose some time behind some people, but alone i do nice laps, and the fasted lap.. shame engine blow when i change the boost to 3 wierd .. TEMP 90º i don't understood why that happen.. Shame Juan spun and crash too, should be a great fight for 2 place! So sad, should be a great result for LRT, Tyger stop&go, CasH crash in lap 41\44 and me 39\44 engine blow :("
Heat EXP; by Avni_Tumay: "A good launch braked in time into turn 1. I got hit from someone behind which in result gave me a bent wishbone. It was an interesting race since the Pitstops didn't work this time. Many drivers loosing concentration was a bonus for me since I moved up a fair bit of positions. I also had lost the car a few times coming to the new bus stop chicane. I was worried on the last few laps since other drivers had engine problems, the team principal suggested to take it easy since Zunik was far back behind. My first podium finish overall coming second. Many thanks to my team for the good last minute work we put in before the race. Good luck to all drivers at Monza."
Heat EXP; by Zunik: "Finally I could race again on server. It has been a tough year to race on F1rst3 as I have been often away and lately had internet probs. I was working during the whole Weekend (that's why qualed Thursday) so I wouldn't be in best shape for race. Actually I was destroyed as I couldn't sleep much the days before. So I decided to take it easy and let pass anyone who seemed to have a better rythm. Start was a bit chaotic, so I took completely the outside, escaping from any trouble. I got passed fast by some cars (let CasH pass in Eau Rouge) and I was just trying to finish the race. I did some tiny errors (kissed slightly the wall sideways) so took it easy all the time. I started loosing positions, but not much later after first 5 laps or so DNF's started. Whole race was keeping the car on the tarmac on a slow rythm and reading who was next to DNF. Not much left of the race, Frozen and CasH DNF'ed, and 2 laps from finish Tyger needed big repairs. Not very sportsman was Edwards behaviour who stopped before finish line to let everybody pass Tyger! Well I actually used that advantage to get my most undeserved podium in F1rst3!!! See you in Monza where I'll have to race alone again (most probable)."
Heat AMA; by Lulasenna: "... SPA, Belgium... my favorite track dream, i made perfect race with starts very clean and fast... Run almost alone and i saw the GAP about others by control... Just do it race clean and soft... Great see my brazilian friend Josimario in 2place and my team mate Snakey finished in 3place... Weldone!!!!..." |

Due to private circumstances a late and short one, for which apologies.
I'll stick to some (again amazing) shots from our races and of course the Race Reports by you guys (and girls, yes!).
I did however add some extra about our own Sean Edwards, who we visited again at Spa. Hope you like it!
The race. Heat EXP started in turn 2 with a massive looking crash, caused by failing equipment of yours truely :O.
Trouble at turn two (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
Sean Edwards, looking for yet another win here, got into trouble as well and had to settle for just a finish this time. Must have felt so embarrassing to be slower on track than some old CasH who, after T2, obviously had a crippled car as well. Poor Sean (NOT :D).

This time the fastest guy on track remained unscarved and did his first win in our F1RST3/TYKA League: Ali_Burkay. Great result!

In AMA all was pretty more exp this time ;). Well done guys!
For the first time Ianstuart finished on the podium in thrird place! A great result for the English driver! |

We were used to many Brazilian drivers (and podium candidates), however this time only Josimario_Carvalho joined. But he did as expected, taking second place!

The winner however was the ever fast Snakey_UK, who scored maximum points for his Team World Racing and England this time. Congrats!

Race Reports (AND movie/impressions Edwards/Spa below!)
Heat EXP; by Tygernoot: "I started from 8th position, but found myself in 5th after the first corner and in 4th after the second. Then Sean decided to take a pause at the end of the first lap, so I was up to 3rd. Unfortunately I hit the wrong curb and lost a position to Frozen again. Frozen decided it wasn't fair and made a mistake to give me back my position. I had a nice battle with Locutus in the second lap, but while braking for T2 I slided a bit and we touched. What Locutus couldn't see was that we touched because I slided instead of the other way around, so he waited for me which was very kind of him :). Then I started chasing Timon and we were having a close battle. Around lap 16 we had to lap Sean - something that doesn't happen often... He played the team role however and put himself between me and Timon. Unfortunately I had to brake hard to avoid Sean, hit a bit of grass and spun. This caused B-Izadfar and me to have a battle for a few corners and was able to overtake me. After my first pitstop I found myself behind my (lapped) team mate Bryan. I guess he didn't look in his mirrors hard enough to see me wave like a mad man and screaming 'let me pass!'. After one lap being stuck I forced my way through. No doubt Cash will have a fierce talk about blocking your own team members. Lap 27 I was chasing Timon again and was able to overtake him this time. In my second stint I had lost some valuable time and after the second stop I was again behind the Don't Lifter. We had an exciting battle for a few laps, passing each other multiple times. Finally Timon stayed ahead and he seemed a lot faster in the final stint so I had more trouble keeping close. On lap 50 there was a little scare while lapping MJ as he let go off the throttle in the middle of the corner, but fortunately everything went ok. I was pushing hard to stay close to Timon but I never managed to attempt any overtaking manoeuver. The climax of the race came on the final lap in the final corner when my engine exploded and I strolled over the finish line at 10km/h. It was a great race and it could have been a lot worse than 4th place, although I might have been on the podium had the race worked out."
Heat EXP; by Avni_Tumay: "I had a great start coming to turn 1, very clean from all drivers I did see Ricardo in the sandpit but making it safely out.As we approach turn 2 it began, I was hit from behind because of lag which put my front end into the wall leaving me in the sandpit with no nosecone. After getting it repaired I got a stop go penalty for speeding in the pits. I was then battling with Cash until he made an error allowing me to pass him. The team boss suggestion was to drive strong, and get in front of MJanosh. So I did making it in front of him. A few laps to go and I was 5 seconds behind Ricardo. Luckily finished with not much drama. I’d like to thank my team for their hard work. Ice Block F1 sure did well at Australia and will continue strong."
Heat AMA; by Rinker: "I started from pole position this race, it was the first time for me this season so I was very happy with this result, even a double win is in reach now . But things are not always go as wanted, I was a little happy that we must do a restart due a server crash, because I got hit three times in first lap that brought me to last position (again.) just before lap two. Second start was good, well for me, as nobody hits me this time, after turn 1 and 2 I felt my car had a lot of oversteer, I really don't know why? And on turn 3 I lost him, also braking somewhat late, I could not get of my place very quick, I think someone have put some very strong glue on those curbs. Luckily no one hit me and all passed fine, for me I had to race from the back again but this time it was my own fault, well part of it I guess(I still don't know where the oversteer is coming from, I don't had it in practice) . I could not push very hard due the oversteer problem, but after 8 laps I was on second position, 20 seconds behind Snakey_UK ( who has done a very good race), I decided not to take any risk, 20 seconds is a lot with a oversteer problem, so I tried to hold second place, that must not give any problems and it gives me also a nice place on the podium. Everything went fine from here, the pit stop was fast and I did some constant lap times, until lap 21, where I found a slow panda (with problems I think) in my way on the fast turn 11, I expected she would moved to the right, but she didn't and I crashed into her back and I lost my front wing, this accident cost my podium place as I had to pit for 40 seconds or so, and with this extra pit stop I also got a drive true penalty, the remaining laps where not enough to get me back on the podium. A weekend with mixed feelings! On to the next race..."
Heat AMA; by A_C_Muller: "Australia was not kind to this Panda! I decided to debut my customized helmet in the land down under so it wasn't a total loss. With a mere 11 qualifiers and no other league race schedule conflicts, this was the second mass race I took part in since Spain. At the start the race was good for the first 6 laps, then game disconected and some time elapsed before a re-start. Good thing too as, I slapped the left side of my car on the first lap with it making wide right hand turns. Well, the second time around wasn't much better. Though I did manage to go half way through the race before repeating history again I had Rinker all in my mirrors. Thanks to him as he was hot all over my exhaust his chasing me, helped me to put in my fastest lap. After barely starting lap 23, my Panda Powered BPR's Brembo brake pads failed. I went off at the second high speed braking area and rocketed through the kitty litter and slammed head on into the cement barrier. According to my graphics, both my front wheels were on - but I don't think they could of survived such a hit. Once I got out, onto the asphalt I had no steering what-so-ever. A GIANT HUG & KISS to Josimario_Carvalho of UK Racing for showing me true Sportsmanship! He helped nudge, bump, bang, edge and point my demolished F1 car around the remaining corners so that I could drive down the front stretch while grinding off all the sponsors logos on the outside wall. I ground to a halt at the end of the front stretch 6 laps down...Hey, it's better then a DNF & 0 points! This Panda prefers the tracks in the Northern Hemisphere!" |

Impressions TYKA/LRT visiting Sean Edwards at Spa for his Porsche Super Cup 2008 race.
Sean's lap filmed from pitwall!
As you all know the TYKA/LRT crew visited Sean at Spa again. This time for his PSC race which, as all know by now, Sean won! Yes, with some 'convincing' from my side to Jeroen Bleekemolen, the current PSC Champion (see my YouTube movies for proof ;)). I'd like to thank Sean and his Team for again their great efforts for making it yet another unforgettable weekend! Hungary results AND... TYKA SE! |

| Results and.... more! |
|
After a brake (holiday and lazy real F1) we go towards our next race this weekend, so time for news about the previous round: Hungary. Ethnically crowded with Panda's I heard :P. Again 30 cars qualified, but due to some problems we had to split unfortunately (you can still mail complaints to Tygernoot for moving the server and going on holiday; we'll beat him up at Spa ;) ).
The start of Round 10 - expert (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
One of the contesters this time was Sean Edwards again, who needed a week of practice in some crappy Porsche (partly writing it off in real life, hehehe). It paid off however as again he won this race in EXP class. Easy for him as his PSC race was over soon, so plenty of time left for the real race here ;).
Edwards was back - the only way he knows (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
Sean's win and MJanosh finishing 4th in EXP provided at least some points for the pretty abandoned Don't Lift Team. Good for them, as Lowland Racing Team (LRT) now scored less, due to the holiday of our Topdriver Tygernoot (I'm now actually wondering if he WAS on holiday or just ran scared after the servermove and left poor Veldt000 and me to get ourselves beaten up by you guys complaining :P:D).
With Tygernoot away, LRT only scored now by the old, reliable ones: CasH, Veldt000 (well, reliable :P) and Bryan in 5th, 6th and 10th place. Poor Veldt000 claiming to let CasH win... the truth was CasH took it easy to finish, but got sick of the idea Veldt000 'backing' (read: take out) CasH, so at the end CasH decided to really race and did a second per lap faster, leaving Veldt000 at respectable distance (and more important: not endangering anybody this time ;) ). Rumours go that Don't Lift got scared by the threat of LRT in 2nd place, they even asked TJBolier (who retired for a while) to return ASAP (or get sacked :P), but unfortunately for them Timon DNF-ed.

Again our Turkish friends did very well, even without their top man Ali_Burkay, as Caner_Basol finished in 3rd place and SametSenturk in 9th! Well done! Their Prof1tr Team will be a team to reckon with...
This brings us to our well fought AMA League. Hungary seemed friendly to Dutch drivers, as in this class Rinker scored good points for Holland, claiming 5th place. Well done Rinker! Now on to the podium next one! I wonder where his son Sander_n is lately. He was AMA Champion at the age of 12! Get him back (read: buy the poor kid his G25 :P) and let him prove he is not too old now to beat the rest :).
Rinker bagged serious points again in AMA (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
The win in AMA this time was a bit of a surprise. Not the usual Felipe[BR] got it yet again, he had to settle for 3rd place, but the very competitive MichaelSchumacher! LulaSenna couldn't repeat the trick from Hockenheim, so he finished 2nd.
Much needed AMA win for MichaelSchumacher (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES

Race Reports, AND NEWS below!
Heat EXP; by B-Izadfar: "I had a pretty crap start going too deep into turn 1. I finished lap 1 in P3 with MJanosh infront and Caner really close behind me. I kept making small mistakes in turn 3, going wide in turn 4, & sliding too much this stint, and therefore the two DL guys infront made a quick easy gap already with Caner putting pressure while only a few tenths behind me. 1st stop came for me on Lap 25, and I think was already around 9seconds behind Edwards. I ran out of fuel coming into the last few turns before my pitstop and coasted to the pitbox. On top of that the pitstop itself was a shit 15second one. So I lost a valuable 12 or seconds and MJ was able to maintain P2. I just made the plan to get P2 back as that was all that is really possible and managed to do that. I had again a crap 2nd pitstop and spun once in the t6/t7 chicane in the final stint. Our pace wasn't bad, my 1st stint, both pitstops, tyre longevity, miscalculation cost us a lot on this round. Look forward to next race (home race!) Big credit to Admin for allowing race and handling server situation, sometimes umplanned major technical issues happen."
Heat AMA; by A_C_Muller: "As this was the third try for me at the Hugaroring, this Panda was hoping that "third times the charm"! I started out with a two pit stop strategy that helped me out at another league. Too bad I was so busy watching the back end of Rinkers car, waiting for it to go off track that I hit a wall. Again I lost another front wing, but never have I done this on the opening lap. I was getting very good gas mileage as I had set it for 12 and did 15 but could of stretched it to 16. Luckily I didn't as my tires and there grip were letting go as each lap was completed. My steering felt good and the brakes did their job. From exiting the pits my Panda Powered car was acting like it were on rails by the end it was like a rally raid in the rain. Without any on screen info as to what lap I was on i came in on laps no.2 for a new front wing, lap no.17 as my first pit stop and then on lap no.32 to find out that I was done one lap later. To me it felt like a mere 26 laps had elapsed, but no. This Panda hopes that the southern hemisphere will provide more grip with respect to tires!".
Heat AMA; by Ghost_GR: "Hungary was my best race since I joined MMG. Not necessarily spectacular, but I achieved a great result. In qualifying I only managed to get position 11 out of 16, at the end of a 7 driver group with times between 1:19:088(iron_gr) - 1:20.050(myself). I knew that I will have to push hard in order to get past some of those close drivers in front of me. The race was very surprising. I was in an 11 driver heat, along Profetu, which I congratulate for his debut in MMG, although he didn't manage to finish. Better luck next time! I had a minor problem in lap1 turn1 - most dangerous place, as always - when I got hit my left back suspension by lebron15. This didn't influence my race though. In that same turn, I managed to pass Ianstuart - an "old rival" of mine. Anything was ok until I found myself being closely followed by Boky who in qualifying dind't manage only a 1:21.698. He kept close to me, we both made mistakes, he overtook me, I overtook him back but in the end, after my pitstop, I lost contact with him, as he was ahead. At this moment I was on 7th place out of 11. I continued to drive constantly and carefully and I managed to finish the race in 4th place, from my heat. Drivers faster than me like flyer23, iron_gr, and even boky, who was ahead, pushed too hard and crashed one at a row, and so I managed to get my good position. On the final standings, Rinker managed to get a better race time than me and I got my 5th final positon!" |

After a great Silverstone race, where many scored points, Hockenheim was another story. Recordbraking grids again (30 drivers for the EXP race, of which 25 made it to the main heat!). As seen in the totally different results, this time only 10 (EXP) made it to the finishline! Well done for those!
More about 'who and what' in the Race Reports below.

Actually the same story as above for our fast Turkish friends, who did very well in Qualify. This race however only Ali_Burkay managed to finish. Very well however, with a fastest lap and second place! Congrats Ali! Pole and victory however were for Aussie B-Izadfar!
Fastest lap and 2nd place for ali_burkay while B-izadfar leading (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
The absence of several fast guys like Sean Edwards and some Don't Lift members made the Team Rankings VERY close! Don't Lift's lead over Lowland Racing Team is only 4 points! However I happen to know Edwards will race Hungary (he hopes with a better result than the real life Porsche Super Cup race here) and Tygernoot (LRT) misses the upcoming one due to holidays. So IF Sean manages to finish, DL will increase the gap I guess. Whatever, it will be very exciting again!
The AMA heat was a bit less crowded than Silverstone, but still big enough to make it worth watching the numerous fights! All that turned up at the grid also finished! Well done!
The pole once again went to Felipe[BR] (red: now guys, get yourself in the picture here by beating him next round! ;) ). |
Yet another AMA pole for Felipe[BR] (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
Finally after our first race, Lulasenna threw a party again, being able to win the race! He was over excited I know! His main Rivals, MichaelSchumacher and poleman Felipe[BR] finished 2nd and 3rd at respectful distance.

Race Reports and videos by I. Otermin and Rinker below!
Heat EXP; by Tygernoot: "Again beaten to pole by B-Iz, I had to start from second position on the grid. I'll blame it on the dirty side of the track that I lost second to ali_burkay in the first corner. The second corner didn't go much better as I was hit from behind and I found myself in 11th position. I started to fight my way back and it was quite entertaining. Right before the pitstop I was back in a good position, but I made a mistake in the first corner hitting the inside curb too hard causing me to spin through the grass and losing lots of time. Fortunately I didn't hit the wall. Before my second stop I was back in second position and everything was looking great. At least until my pit limiter button double-clicked (without me knowing) and as a result I doing 110 through the pits. This gave me a stop&go penalty causing me to drop back to 5th. I was only 2.5s behind JuanFran and I tried to push as hard as I could. I never repaired the damage from the collision at the start to avoid losing too much time in the pits. Perhaps that didn't allow me to push as hard as I wanted and I made some mistakes putting me 10s behind JuanFran. Then I just decided to drive my car to the finish and settle for 5th instead of risking more damage. So in the end it's a bit disappointing result as it was possible to finish in second position had it not been for the pitlimiter button, but the race was very exciting and I enjoyed it a lot."
Heat EXP; by B-Izadfar: "I thought I got a great start but saw Ali got an even better one and was side by side with Tyger into turn 1. I noticed Tyger disappeared from my LCD info in turn 2. I tried to pull away early because there seems to be much more grip and stability in MMG early on and could stretch a lead out to almost 2 seconds. During the early laps the marker into the stadium was gone and put me off. Anything I gained in S1 & S2 I lost in S3 a lot. So the gap remained pretty solid until lap 10 my wheel clamp came loose off the desk going into stadium. I just tried to keep it on the road, not slow down too much and get it back on tight ASAP! I lost 2 seconds right there and Ali was right on my tail. On lap 12 exiting turn 3 this time the other side of the wheel came loose and I lost a bit of concentration and spun in the hairpin. Ali took the lead and Juan Fran also passed me but I was able to take P2 next corner with some luck. Ali entered the pits on Lap 22 with lead of about 2 seconds and I had 2 laps to make the most of it. I think I did a great inlap and estimate to come out maybe 2 seconds in the lead. Unfortunately Ali received a drive through and served his penalty on lap24.
From there I had Juan Fran not far behind me lapping very quickly but I knew he was on 3 stops, and the main competitors were 20seconds behind. I decided to turn the boost down between 3 and 4 and bring it home after lap approaching the 2nd pitstop. I kept a close eye on the 4 guys behind me and it looked intense but unfortunate for some with penalties. Very competitive race here, looking forward to next race".
Heat EXP; by Ali_Burkay: "I started the race forum 3rd pocket but i used the advantage of being left and passed Tygernoot at first corner. At first turn there was a big accident and everyone was affected except me and Izadfar. In first laps i chased Izadfar for a while. And after Izadfar's spin i've got the lead.I kept my lead until first pit-stops.During my first stop i exceeded the pit speed limit because of a little carefullness.I had a drive-through and lost my lead. After that,we had a big challenge with tygernoot for 2nd place. I chased him about 2 seconds for a long while.Especially,i think we lost too much time while lapping people. After second pit-stops i grab the 2nd place by benefiting the problem that Tygernoot had.I tried to catch Izadfar, during this period,i think i was the fastest driver over there.I always improved my best time and took the fastest lap of track.Generally,i am slow about 0.5 seconds at the qualification compared my real tempo.I hope i will fix that but i trust my race speed.Congratulations to Brian Izadfar.I will not able to participate in Hungary GP because of my suburban travel."
Heat EXP; by Avni Tumay: “Just at the beginning of the race I had random electronic problems dealing with either RAM or graphics card. All of a sudden it turned to be like a 4-bit colour screen. I am using a NVIDIA Geforce 9600 GT 512mB. Very disappointed couldn’t see the track well at all so therefore ended in the wall. Well done to Bizadfar for finishing in first place, a good boost for our team.”
Heat AMA; by Rinker: “I think I did a good qualification run that let me start from the fourth position on the grid. So I was very happy with that as I also found a good race setup. It turns out that our heat started without Felipe who had pole position, this gives me even more advantage. Unfortunately mine car needed some last minute changes, the crew worked hard but couldn't managed it in time, now I had to start from the pit lane, the last race in Silverstone, where I just before the end of lap one got touched from behind what makes me spun and had started lap two in last position, I found myself now in the same position, starting as last! Well, I must push all race then....
Ages it takes, before the pit light went green, everybody already started and I had to wait 20 seconds before I could press my pedals, I pushed very hard, my car felted great, so after two laps the first came in sight. I didn’t had much trouble to overtake, as I was a lot faster than them. Only Snakey_UK and iron_gr held me up, unlike Silverstone where I had only two laps left to try to overtake Iron, I now had a lot more laps to go, my first try was a very late brake at the hairpin, a very, very, very late brake actually, this was mine first big mistake but also mine last. I waited for an another opportunity, that did came in the next round, at Mobil1 (Agip) I past him, it was the same place where I overtake Snakey_UK earlier. I found myself in third position at this point, MichaelSchumacher and LulaSenna are too far ahead and also as fast as me if not a little faster. So now I was only holding my position till finish.
I did a great race with some nice battles, strategy was good, although some drivers had the same, and that makes it also exiting in the pit lane.
Finished Third this race, but lost my podium place due the start from the pit lane, expensive 20 seconds for me, but I’m still very happy with fourth place and looking forward to the next race."
Heat 2 AMA; by A_C_Muller (red: THE Panda): “Shades of Monaco for this Panda! Knowing that my team mate would be using hard compound tires and a scheduled no-stopper, I opted to go with soft compound tires and a one stop strategy. All this was after a 2nd place podium finish for me in another league with soft tires and 2 stops. I started off very well without sliding sideways through the first turn and I knew i had a chance to dive under him into the second turn. I was correct and we banged tires a bit on the exit but with no damage. I was able to pull away as long as I didn't make any mistakes. When my team mate was close to passing me, I was worried it may be done before the second high speed turn to the right. I opted to get off-line and take my foot off the gas instead of us locking tires and sliding throught the kitty litter to meet the barriers. Now, it was my team mates turn to pull away. I did see a few yellow flags and figured - ok, now it's my turn to make-up time. While also worrying as to why the caution was out and to what extent. By the time Castor2 regained the lead from me it was on the end of lap 18 when I cam in for my pit-stop. Then later on I caught up and passed him. Wow, now I put him one lap down - now I was realy getting worried if he will be able to finish - Skreeetch, Bang! I forgot to concentrate on the track and I went too hot into the second last turn surrouded by kitty litter after shifting down from 6th to 2nd instead of 5th into 1st I plowed through the kitty litter, like Monaco on a fourty-five degree angle. I had my front wing and whole front right suspension ripped off my Panda Powered car. Then I worried about backing up in the kitty litter as it was deep and my car had a very low ground clearance. Then I got the back-up warning, but I could not turn to the left as I was in driect contact with the barrier. I limped around for four laps adding three minutes to my total time while Castor2 un-lapped himself and proceeded to win the heat race between the two of us. This Panda threw away a win between team mates, but I look forward to my ethnic race at the Hungaroring!" |

| Silverstone; The leaders and the winner(s) |

This time a bit more extended news, as there just IS lots to write.
Like usual an update on our 'pride': Sean Edwards. This time he had an even better reason to miss THE race (the F1RST3/TYKA one that is :P). Sean managed in his real life Porsche Super Cup race at his hometrack, for the first time in his career in PSC, to WIN the race!!! AWESOME Sean! We all are VERY proud and happy for you!

In case you want to watch the action and keep track of Sean, visit www.seanedwards.eu (or just read our news here ;) ). Our member MJanosh edited a video of the race at Silverstone. A MUST see for fans of Sean. The second race in RAIN Sean had success! COULD the weight 'advantage' help by providing more grip? :P. Whatever, apparantly F1RST3/TYKA is a good start for offline racers ;).
Now however what you guys all come here for: the real races in really FAST cars through F1RST3/TYKA ;).
The start of our EXP race was a great one with even 25 cars at the grid in the main race, after 30 qualified! 24 Eager, awake guys and one Veldt000 :D. I HAD to request our photographer to do a shot of Veldt000's start... Later he thought of the excuse his dad called him, so he 'forgot to brake'. Even Michael Schumacher (the real one) never had SUCH excuse :P :D.

It was a race of leaders, in a weird way. We had several newcomers (well, to F1RST3/TYKA that is) from Turkey. FAST ones! The race was lead for a long time by one of them: Ali_Burkay. Until he made a mistake and crashed. Another leader was B_Izadfar. He lead as well for quite some laps, until he lost concentration and hit some tirewall that was in his way :P.
Pole sitter B Izadfar had a huge accident at Copse (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
This reminds me about my own (stupid) mistake. Being in 6th position, after great fights with Zoneur and Karlisss, I JUST overdid it and copied Brian's crash. Lost a wheel 3 laps before finish. However overpaying your crew pays off! They replaced my entire suspension and wheel (in about 130 seconds :D), so at least I could finish. |
The rest of the race was dominated by Championship Leader Tygernoot and JuanFran.
JuanFran got fastest lap but Tygernoot got the win (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
By winning, Tygernoot contributed to Lowland Racing Team (LRT) coming a bit closer to leading team Don't Lift. However third place this race was for MJanosh. He did a great and very fair race, taking valuable points for Don't Lift, which they need, lacking Edwards for some races!
Team Dont Lift's honour was upheld by MJanosh (Click image to enlarge!) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
The AMA devision had a pretty nice grid as well. 20 Drivers qualified this time and 15 showed on the grid for the main race. The entire weekend was dominated by Felipe[BR], by taking pole and winning the race.

Unfortunately some didn't start at all, as they disagreed the penalty we gave for not qualifying according our strict rules. My friend Iron_Gr JUST missed the podium this time, finishing 4th. Still a great job! Secretly yours truely hopes Iron will, like Vassilis, return to EXP, so I can beat him once more ;).

After our eighth race, the various rankings are as following:
EXP: Tygernoot (see full EXP rankings HERE).
AMA: LulaSenna (see full AMA rankings HERE).
Teams: Don't Lift (see full Teams rankings HERE).
Countries: Netherlands (see full Country rankings HERE).
NOTE: Rankings are final
Some matters of importance:
-
ALWAYS give way if you get a blue flag! Do NOT hinder the guys lapping you! Get off the racing line ASAP and let them pass safely!
-
Again I got many disputes, mainly in our AMA division. PLEASE race with respect for fellow competitors! ALL want to finish, like yourself...

Race Reports and video by IÒigo Otermin below!
Heat EXP; by Tygernoot: "This really was an amazing race. Perhaps not the best, but certainly one of the most exciting races I have ever driven. I had a good start off the line and remained in 4th position, following my teammate RiccardoFerreira closely. In one of the first laps he ran a bit wide while braking for Club. I don't know why the same happened to me but I ran even wider (I will blame the oil on the track ;)) and went through the grass. This allowed the Don't Lifters MJanosh and Locutus to come really close behind me and MJanosh was the first to pass me. An epic battle followed... During the battle with MJanosh we sometimes touched as we were driving different lines and had different wing setups. So I had to let go off the throttle a bit to allow MJanosh to keep his position, causing Locutus to overtake me as well. In the meantime someone had ran over the corner sign at Copse. I was using that sign to estimate my corner entry and I had a hard time adapting without it. Most of the first stint I was close behind Locutus and along with the dirty air I was often missing the corner entry or was entering too early. This always cost me 10-20 km/h of exit speed and made it difficult to find overtaking possibilities on the Hanger Straight. Still Locutus and I had a very close battle, often going into corners side by side and he wasn't afraid to close the door. At the same time he was trying to overtake his teammate MJanosh, and at some points we were going into the corners with three cars at the same time. Avni_Tumay was following closely as well, which made this a 4-car battle! It was simply incredible and even though we were fighting like maniacs the battle always remained fair. Avni passed me when I ran wide at Copse going over the high curbs so I think I was down to 8th position at that time. However, Locutus and Avni collided going into Abbey in the 15th lap and in lap 17 MJanosh entered the pits, so I presumed he was on a 3-stop strategy. I went in on the 20th lap as I was on a 2-stop strategy. At that time I was back in fourth position with JuanFran and Ricardo around 12 to 15 seconds in front of me. I finally had a clear track ahead of me and started pushing to keep up with them. B Izadfar fell asleep and crashed out of the lead and I noticed JuanFran was on a 3-stop. This meant a 1-2 for LRT was in sight. After my second stop Ricardo and I were about 7 seconds ahead of JuanFran. Ricardo was slowing down a bit and I passed him when he made a small mistake. Unfortunately for him (and LRT), he was passed by JuanFran and ended his race a lap later - only a few laps before the end - due to a crash. Although having a bad start of the race I was able to enjoy a fantastic battle with MJanosh, Locutus and Avni, and thanks to some luck taking my second win of the season. It's a bit of a shame Sean wasn't here to defend his home Grand Prix and I doubt I could have won the race had he participated. This win will give me a big advantage in the championship standings which I'll probably be needing when my luck ends. To conclude, I would definitely recommend everyone to download the replay to watch the battle we had in the first stint, as it was simply amazing :)."
Heat EXP; by Ricardoferreira: "This race start with a hope for one podium, i start well always in race line, first corners very hard with Tyger doing lot of pressure.. and i lose 2 seconds for the leaders Brian and Ali. 2 lap i open a little gap for tyger, but JuanFran Pass him... and starting doing lot of pressure beating the faster lap, seems my cars sucks in first stint, later Brian spun and lose the lead for Ali, and i lose time.. because i brake too avoid collision, with Inigo (team job i know m8, u block me because juanfran lol joking) in lap 15 (i think) ali hit the wall, and next Brian in first corner (stupid corner), i pass in start and Say "well done u are leading the race" ok nice.. and i think.. "without Brian this will be easy" lol seems not, Juan do lot of pressure and i open and he pass me easy .. because i know he will stop 3 times.. when he stop i do the faster race lap 1.20.5, and i leading the race easy until last stind, complete destroy for me.. 4 spuns, and a stupid crash in first corner... and my race over in lap 54, i ask Sorry for my team LRT we can do P1 and P2, first in the this season, anyway i will not win, i will open for Tyger win.. because he need the points in drivers champ! Hope better luck in germany, Atm bad season for me, lots of crash (2 stupids mistakes, canada brakes, and GB). I want say congratulations too Tyger for a great win, very regular and Juan, first time in EXP and he do a great race. and again Sorry team!!"
Heat AMA; by Michael Schumacher (not the real one :P): "My race didnít start as I expected since I had to start from the back due to a qualifying penalty. Before the start of the race I tried some late minute improvements since I knew my car would be unstable after 5-6 laps. So I decided to make it more understeer but slower, at least I would have a nice race pace. And so it happened. Throughout the race the feeling of the car didnít change at all, so I could pace myself exactly as I liked to. I moved my way up to Flyer who was 3rd at that point then moved to 2nd due to a retirement from Vasilis. At that point I was 6 seconds behind Flyer. I started closing the gap just in time for pit stops. Then I remembered a trick being played by real MS in San Marino 2004 (if I am not wrong) with Button and Honda. Real MS and Ferrari would be prepared for a pit stop but MS would not go in just to fool Button and make him go in too :). So I did same thing and was changing cameras to see what Flyer would do (maybe he was watching me incar too). After some laps he went in (our gap was less than a second) but even though I had called for pit stops I decided to stay out one more lap. Then I remembered that I didnít try all weekend a pit stop so I didnít know where and if there was a white line at the entry of pit stops. I went in carefully and when I went out just behind Flyer again. At a later lap I managed to pass him rather easily fooling him at the brakes at the long straight, later on he tried to pass me but hit me and apologized. The next laps I tried to keep the gap with Felipe who I donít know if he was pushing but I could keep the gap to a reasonable level! So from last to 2nd and only 1 retirement (from Vasili) I think is pretty cool :D"
Heat AMA; by A_C_Muller: "Problems persist for this Panda yet again! After I sent in my qualification lap time and before I took part in race something wen't horribly wrong. The car was handling like a truck. When I wanted to turn left the car wanted to go straight, when I wanted to turn right the car wanted to go straight. My tires wore well, but the grip seemed to be a little off and my brakes though this time acted better either they came on too fast, too early or I braked late. The last chicane was a total disaster as I only ever managed to make it six times out of thirty laps. I lost a front wing again, but this time it was due to the low fuel warning message popping up. I got distracted, went straight off into the kitty litter & braking + steering didn't help. I spun once almost doing a full 360 when I slammed on the gas while riding the rumble strips. I also did a long slide sideways exiting the long straight away but atleast I got the grass mowed to a proper height for the next person. When a racer took out the 50' marker for the first turn I had to take it easy when going through in fourth gear. I never liked this track and will be glad to see it disappear in my rear view mirror. This Panda is very eager to go and search for bamboo in the Black Forest!"
Heat AMA; by Flyer23: " I got a decent start, but Rinker got a better one so i had no choise but to let him through into T1. I followed closely until Club, where he went wide. Then he turned back to protect his line but I had undercut him mid corner and was able to accelerate quicker and | | | | |
