Dubai GP and Fuji Speedway Report
We bring you a combined report of the final two races of the Fanatec PCC Championship.
Unlimited amount of contesters; huge grids!

In Dubai Edwards got back into shape and took pole position in front of Dizzo, although only with a minor difference. Vassilis qualified himself ahead of his main rival TJBolier for 2nd position in the championship.
Vassilis & TJBolier had a race long battle
(click image to enlarge) © StewartRACINGIMAGES
In a photo finish Sean beat Dizzo to the chequered flag. TJBolier was unable to catch Vassilis and had to settle for fourth, taking the championship fight for second place to the final race in Fuji. Stewartgpboy was unable to match his performance of the previous race, where he took his first podium finish of the season, as he struggled all race with his Porsche after suffering a crash in the opening lap of the race.

The final race of the championship was held at the Fuji Speedway. Edwards, already sure of his championship win, was unable to make it as he had to race his real Porsche. DJCruicky took advantage of the situation and snatched pole position ahead of Vassilis and TJBolier. Kubus put in a nice effort to qualify sixth, but failing to show up for the race saw him losing his points again. To finish first, you first have to ehhh... start.
The championship went out with a bang in the first turn. Multiple cars collided in the tight corner, but everybody seemed to get away without too much damage. TJBolier suffered a crash as the engine driving his virtual Porsche got stuck in a loop, giving the hard fought 2nd place in the championship away to Vassilis. Trick suffered the same problems when his computer stopped responding after a steady drive.
Buattila had a fantastic start of the race and remained in the lead until the very last lap after having fought with Vassilis all race long. On the final lap on the very last straight Vassilis was able to get into Buattila's slipstream. The latter even pushed Vassilis on the grass in an attempt to keep his race win. But even on the grass Vassilis was able to maintain his speed and won ahead of Buattila with a difference of less than 0.03 seconds!
Safety car was not required this season

Very exciting driving once again, taking battles to the final lap of the last race. DJCruicky followed in third, unable to turn his pole position in a race win. However, he put in a great effort as it's not an easy task to finish in the top three with reversed grids.
Close racing throughout the season

So this brings us to the end of the very eventful Fanatec PCC Championship. Sean Edwards once again proved unstoppable by convincingly taking the championship win. After a long fight during the entire season Vassilis turns out to have the most reliable Porsche and takes second place. Although suffering a DNF in the final race, TJBolier had enough points to keep his third position in the final standings.
Edwards got the championship

Don't forget we have fantastic prizes for this league thanks to Fanatec! So here's the moment everybody's been waiting for... the winners!
The 1st prize goes to the winner of the league. Who else than Mr Porsche himself, Sean Edwards, is taking home the Fanatec Racing-Seat, including the brand-new Porsche 911 Turbo wheel!
The 2nd prize, a Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo wheel, goes to a lucky guy selected randomly from the final championship positions 2 to 5 (after removing the admins of course). And the winner is: Vassilis !
The 3rd prize, a Fanatec Headshot Controller, goes to a randomly selected driver from positions 6 to 15... Danny3L !
Congratulations guys, I'm sure you'll be very happy with your prizes. Audiovisual material of the award ceremony for the 1st prize will follow! You didn't think we'd let Sean Edwards get away with the cockpit that easily?

A short one this time, as I didn't race myself this one, so better let the pics and reports speak for themselves :).
Only thing I know is there was again PLENTY of fierce action on track!
The big grid gets on it's way © StewartRACINGIMAGES This time in Qualify Edwards got suprised by Dizzo, snatching the pole. That will teach Sean to do only one lap ;). TJBolier took a great 3rd spot after last race rumble.
Hellas Racing Team in trouble © StewartRACINGIMAGES
The first corner of the race proved to be a real messy one yet again. Not that many were less careful, but just a slight touch by Spiros started some pinballmachine, with poor Dizzo as the ball...
Great comeback by Dizzo to 4th! © StewartRACINGIMAGES
Dizzo's wrecked car still finished 4th however, after a long repair. Amazing! Even putting up the fastest lap of the race! |
Might be good idea to lose some weight indeed? :D.

Great racing that should be mentioned, by TJBolier as revenge for last race. taking second and StewartGPBoy who took his first podium at third place!
Competitive racing as well by Ianstewart © StewartRACINGIMAGES Even as seemingly cruising, staying out of real trouble, real life GT Racer (2008 Porsche Super Cup, CONGRATS Sean!) Edwards took another win!

User Reports:
With so many action on the grid and through out the race, you can imagine it is impossible for us to give everyone the credit in the news they deserve. That's why we got user reports. Drivers can submit their own race review and we will include it in the news. For this round we start of with:
TJBolier: What a mess, think everyone crashed once, luckily i got through first corner without too much damage. Edwards was passing stewart for p1 and crashed, i got stewart later in lap 7 or 8 or so, got in the lead with a good gap to Edwards of 8 seconds, quite stable. Then in lap 12 i had the worst shit luck. Some backmarker lost there headlight in a crash in turn 5. I going in full speed at turn 5 and run over the headlight with my tyre and got an instant puncture. My race was totally blown after that, was finally in the position to fight for the win and then this, was mega frustrated. Pitted and did a 22 lap stint after, still got second. Also had an incident later Ianstuart, thought he rammed me off, but watched replay, more of a race incident. Saw your PM Ian, thanks and no worries, all cool m8! Thanks everyone else for the nice race.
DJCruicky: "Wow, a race full of crashes :D. Me 4th on the grid, got a very good start, and over took 'buattila' off the line, but got instantly blocked by 'George_Prix' which killed all my speed. 'Vassilis' shoots passed me (who had an even better start), but he too was blocked by 'George_Prix' so 'Vas' had to brake hard (me need to look in the rule book about all this blocking stuff). In turn 'iron_gr' had to avoid 'Vassilis' but in doing so tagged 'me' as I was trying to make it round the first corner. Now pointing in the wrong direction, middle of the road, with 20 cars heading towards me, was thinking to myself "ermm, this is not a good place to park". Not a sight you want to see I can tell you. All hell broke out, cars were flying passed me, into me, over me. Got spun in the right direction and got going again leaving all chaos behind me :D. Sorry guys :D Driving up the hill in 15th place, felt like I was driving the same car that I did 5 barrel rolls at 'Bathhurst'. Steering was all over the shop, but still managed to overtake a good number of cars (ok most of them were parked into walls around the track, but they still count don't they? :D). Got to 4th very soon. Tyres were very bad after a short number of laps, and could not keep up with 'stewartgpboy' in 3rd and started to fall back. 'Dizzo' pinned me back to 5th place with 10 laps to go. Spotter plug-in was shouting my engine was over heating the whole race which had me worried but was ok in the end. 5th place........ very happy :). See you at 'Dubai GP'. |
Conclusion:
Yet another spectacular race ended. With still battles going on all over the place! Remember that TOP 15 can still win prizes! So all is open! | Bathurst, Weekend Report |
A bit late, but due to developments in our OA-Team from now done by me (CasH) again.
Bathurst promised to be one of the most challenging tracks of the schedule. And yes, it was!
An on-form Kubus was fast all weekend © StewartRACINGIMAGES In qualify Edwards again claimed pole. Kubus stormed to an amazing second position in the qualify and third was the ever fast Dizzo. Now on to the race as that is where the real points get scored!
Team Don't Lift locked out the front row © StewartRACINGIMAGES
The race itself was a real challenge, not only to survive the deadly track itself, but also to stay out of trouble during the vicious fights all over the place.
Through The Chase with AJYates © StewartRACINGIMAGES
As the race evolved, too much to decribe all happened, so I'll stick to some memorable highlights. |
Dizzo was leading the pack with a blistering speed, but suddenly found himself trapped in the unforgiving sand. Unfortunately it took him so long to get out, he found himself lapped 5 times by then. The same spot however your reporter got stuck and couldn't get out.
Beautiful shot: Up 'The Mountain' again © StewartRACINGIMAGES
In the heat of the furious fights all over the place DJCruicky suffered a major accident trying to avoid the fighting/crashing JosιSc coming back on track, after an argument with TJBolier. DJ survived, but his car was pretty messed up!
DJCruicky survived this massive shunt © StewartRACINGIMAGES Only 16 of 26 made it, relatively damaged or not, to the finishline.
As some drivers had a bit too furious battles, this is the second track of the League we had to hand out some penalties.
I URGE all of you to please respect eachother and drive in a SAFE way! We WILL penalise! So please consider this for the upcoming races!

DJCruicky:
"Bathurst is another race I managed to scrape into the reversed top 10 to sit on the front row with my 'Don't Lift' team-mate 'stewartgpboy'. I got all to loose and nothing to gain.
Got a clean start and took the lead with my wingman protecting my rear, but no one was protecting his and he was soon swallowed alive by the thunderous pack of roaring angry cars behind. I had clean road ahead, just had to keep it on the black stuff and focus what was in front and not what was happening behind. Even managed to pull a bit of a lead, but was not long before everyone were all on my tail bitting and snapping at me all trying to over taking. Once 1 car got passed all rest followed soon. Jumped from 1st to 7th within the space of a few laps (where I belong I guess).
My race come to a complete pause when I had to avoid JoseSC's car (after TJBolier had an 'incident' with him) resulting in me barrel rolling down the back straight at 262KPH. I though I was never going to stop. Got going again, engine still running, 4 wheels still intact, front bumper still there
, "Car Still Drivable!" to my surprise :D Did not even have to pit. Braking was hard and wheel was pulling a bit, but not too bad.
Gained two places first with Dizzo getting stuck in the sand for 6 laps and Vassilis getting a flat tyre. Very happy for finishing race in 6th place considering big crash was very lucky.
When I took off my helmet off after the race my face was all bruised :D" |
Conclusion:
I guess after this thrilling one, we're up for yet another challenging track: Watkins Glen! Get ready, do your practice, as you'll need it in yet another action and driver packed race! |

AJYates: "I didnt do very well in qualifying and got 16th on the grid with a time of 1.44.7 which is 1.7 seconds off my personal best time at that track. We started the race and all got through turn 1 nicely which was a relief, until turn 2 when ricardoferreira came in at a bad angle and hit the back end of my car putting me into a spin and at the back of the grid. Despite this I ran a pretty good race and very consistent. With only one mistake spinning on track I didnt do too bad compared to some other races. I had some good battles throughout the race and enjoyed it very much. Over all I finished 9th in the rankings and brought home some more points for LRT. I am sure Bathurst will be a very hard track on our cars and for us driving them. It is very challenging and will prove to be hard to finish. Good luck all and see you there. " |
Conclusion:
We go to one of the best touring car tracks in the world. For european or american people this track can have a fussy status, but it's one of the most exciting, thrilling tracks of the world. We are talking about Barthurst. This great venue is a track build on a mountain (Parama), with fast long and slow twisty turns, uphill and downhill all the time. This is a MUST drive if you love racing!! You got to try this track, you got to race on this track, it's special! Join up now! |

With so many action on the grid and through out the race, you can imagine it is impossible for us to give everyone the credit in the news they deserve. That's why we got user reports. Drivers can submit their own race review and we will include it in the news. For this round we start of with:
AJYates: "My quail wasnt too good. But when it came to the race I got my race fuel in and for some reason I started setting Personal Best times. So I started the race but even though I got faster and to a reasonable amount I couldnt keep up the consistency. I would spin then catch other back up. Spin again catch other back up. And it went on like this all race long. Had a few crashes too maybe one was my fault (sorry) but others I had were there fault ?. Better luck next time! I made 3 pit stops out of a planned 2 because of a crash which caused a flat tyre. Bad result in the end. Hope to work on being consistent as well as fast now. Need 110% concentration for next race! And a better result is in order. See you all next round for some more fun. "
DJCruicky: "Here's my first race report for PCC. Started 2nd on the grid thanks to the reverse top ten. First time I did that so was very pleased. Some how got round the first corner before the TJBoiler mayhem took place. Guys behide me were a good second and half faster then me but some how I was managing to keep them behind my slow pace. Edwards my team m8 cut through the field from 10th to 3rd , so I let him passed with ease in hope he would slow up Kubus in 1st for me. I was forming a train of cars be hide me all wanting passed, pretty funny really until Bang! lap 11, got rear ended and spun it, and then got wacked as I was stuck in the middle of the road. Jumped from 3rd to 7th in a blink of an eye :(. 3 races in a row now guys!!! :s Later in the race, I got passed Kubus as he had problems in the pit as someone had the same pit spot as he, then I overtook Vassilis with just a few laps left. It was a good race for me, finished 5th, had some close racing with lots of people. Highlight of the race was overtaking Buattila inside of a back marker. It was like the Hakkinen vs. Schumacher at Spa move. CU in the next one. "
Veldt000: "After some people went out and in the room, server set the grids (sorry no jokes, CasH). I had a great start, could easy avoid an admin (Taurus wake up!). First turn CasH gave us/me a break test, or was he just avoiding all shit in first corner, what a mess. Moving towards second corner I wanted to position my car on the outside, BUT too bad for CasH and AJYates (sorry guys) my G25 quit service. I re-joined the race as last, what a disaster. Only had some fights with Cash (ahum
I let him pass) and Walter, who I passed but I directly slide through a corner and walter managed to give me the last nudge to end up in the wall (not in video). This was it: race over, no more fight with somebody, only blue flags! ? Lucky for me I finished, but not the way I wanted. "
Tygernoot: "This was a very exciting race from start to finish. I had a reasonable start from 7th position, and was in a good position to see Timon crash into the other cars in front me. This allowed Edwards to jump ahead of me, but fortunately I was able to overtake him again around the outside after he got held up at the chicane. A failed attempt of Sean to take back his position made him flash his lights and klaxon at me :p. At the end of the 4th lap he made it through and DJCruicky, who was driving in front of me, quickly let his team mate pass. The following laps I stuck close to DJ, but was unable to overtake him. In the meantime JoseSC was following me closely. With DJ being notorious for early braking, I almost went off on several occasions - something that happened to me before in the Megane league. And so on the eight lap I had a slide and both Jose and Dizzo drove past me. What followed was a close four-way fight, but due to a collision between DJ and JoseSC I found myself back in fourth position, and up to third when Kubus got stuck in the gravel. After my one and only pitstop I kept my position, but was chased by Vassilis through the heavy traffic. I must say that everyone went aside really quickly and I had no problems overtaking backmarkers, so a big thanks to all for showing great sportsmanship. I did have one little problem when McMilan and AJYates collided in front of me and I was unable to avoid the first. This allowed Vassilis to pass me what lead to a long chase. In the end Vassilis spun exiting the chicane and although I went full on the brakes, there was some contact sending poor Vassilis even harder into the wall. Luckily he seemed to be able to continue, albeit without a front bumper. Till the end of the race, JoseSC put pressure on me but luckily I didn't make a mistake and achieved my second podium finish of the season. It was a very exciting race and definitely the most fun so far. Let's just hope Jerez (one of my favorite tracks) will be at least as fun. "
CasH: "Laguna, one of my favourite tracks! We did some laps in warmup and found out the old rivals (AND (old) F1C League Admins) were a couple of hundredths of seconds apart (again!). Promising for the race! I started from my below average position: 18th of 28. My main Rivals Veldt, Taurus and... in every League... Iron-GR behind me. The light go out and off we go! Pretty good start from me, but getting closer fast to enormous clouds of dust and cars flying around! Later I heard my Teammate TJBolier had Pedal problems, taking several of the fast guys in front off! Ehhhh, to make sure... NOT ordered by me as Team Captain :D. Sorry all involved! ALSO Timon of course, as it also cost him a good result. Written two alineas and we are only past turn 1 now! LOL! I'm in about 10th position, braking for turn 2... two TEAMMATES (employees actually!) behind me and what happens? I get pushed off by AJ! WT....(and another letter :P). After telling him his salary would drop THAT much, he from now had to pay ME, AJ told me he was not to blame! And indeed, after reviewing it was Pascal (Veldt000; the rival Admin AND Teammate!) who pushed AJ into my rear... (I already read HIS race report; a LAUGH! :D:P).
Veldt000 again... no comment, read his excuse :P After struggling out of the sandtrap, I joined track at ... 23rd position :(. Getting on pace I reached in lap 3 my other fellow Admin, Taurus. I have to admit I suspected Taurus of pushing me round JUST before the corkscrew in lap 3! Watching the replay, I have to admit it was ME causing it. I just bumped too much over the previous curb, in front of Taurus, so he had NO chance braking in time to avoid me. I saw I even pushed/touched Walter. SORRY! MY mistake! Resulting in dropping even back in 25th (last!) place when finally getting out of the sand ?. About mid race (I did only one stop) I again ended up behind Taurus! But gaining fast, as I just had new tires and he obviously not. More careful I approached him until he got his left wheels in the sand, giving me the chance to safely overtake and never see him again ;).
This time SAFE overtaking by CasH In the meantime I seem to have overtaken many, including Iron_GR. Sorry mate! Someday, SOMEDAY... ;). The second half of my race was pretty ok, JUST being able to hold of my friend NewtyNG, finishing in 11th position! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! Looking forward to next one again! " |

We move on to round 6 on jerez 1988. A quick fast exciting track, see you all there and invite your friends! |

| Istanbul, Weekend Report |
Buattila leads into turn 1 © StewartRACINGIMAGES We arrive on the Turkisch Istanbul track for round 4. This great track with fast corners is very intense for racing. In Qualify Edwards captured the pole with a time of 1.53.808. Dizzo captured second place in qualify, 0.276 behind Edwards. Andreas_Spengler did a solid lap and captured third place in qualify with a time of 1.54.925. Let's see what the podium looked like on the end of the race!
Dizzo flew all weekend © StewartRACINGIMAGES
Dizzo rounds the final turn to take the win © StewartRACINGIMAGES |
The battle for the lead intensifies © StewartRACINGIMAGES The race was one big heat of 30 drivers, 21 showed up for the race! The race started and the battles were fought all over the field. The nature of the Istanbul track with it's long corners and different braking points was the ideal ingredient for fierce battles. The Top 10 was reversed for the race.
DJCruicky storms his way to 6th © StewartRACINGIMAGES During the race an intense battle developed between 5 drivers on the front, Dizzo, Edwards, Vassilis, Tonga and JoseSC. They fought hard lap after lap. Dizzo got into the lead around the first pitstop and showed his great pace, creating a bigger gap to Vassilis in second and claiming the victory. Vassilis had a very strong race and came home second. TJBolier got home third after an intense race working his way up through the field from last position where he unfortunately dropped down to after Dizzo tapped TJBolier on the back making him spin off, first corner, lap one. Congratulations to all on the podium and who finished.

With so many action on the grid and through out the race, you can imagine it is impossible for us to give everyone the credit in the news they deserve. That's why we got user reports. Drivers can submit their own race review and we will include it in the news. For this round we start of with:
AJYates: "In qualifying i didnt do too good and got 20th on the grid. And for the coming race i just was hoping to be consistant more than anything. But before the race i thought it would be at 8pm GMT like used to and like an idiot i forgot the new race time is now 1 hour earlier. so when i went in client at 7.20pm the race was already 20mins in. So my out come for this weekend was. A crap quali and managed to do 0 laps in the race. See you all at next round and good luck!"
CasH: "Finally a race that went beond expectation (well, MY expectation at least ;) ). Started 16th and could avoid some hassles at turn 1 without a scratch. Usually I train as much as I can, but due to several circumstances I didn't find the time for this race. The more exited I got during race I could do a pretty steady 'fast' pace without any real errors! I even had a great, long fight with Buattila (thx for great behaviour and excitement!). Timonski (My mate TJB) even thought I was fighting him, but it just took him so long to overtake me, as I was waiting for him to catch up :D. No real weird things happened during race, except the fact I finished in 8th position ;). GREAT for me! Looking forward to the next race! From now I'm SURE NOT to train after my Qualify! :D. "
Tygernoot: "My race was already compromised at the start, as I let go of the clutch before the lights went out. I served my drive-through penalty the first lap and came out half-way down the grid. Unfortunately when working my way up again, I come in contact with Newty at the end of the long straight in lap 2 when trying to overtake him. This caused me to spin and I lost another few positions. From that point on I just tried to keep up the pace and hopefully win back enough positions. My 2-stop strategy worked out great, as my tyres were degrading quickly causing massive oversteer and slides. In the end I finished in 5th position, which was better than I had expected after the bad start."
TJBolier: "It's true what they say, usually the most unfortunate races can turn into something good and spectacular. Into corner one i was tapped off by Dizzo, in my eyes by a ridiculous move, shit happens. I dropped down to last position, while i was trying to get back on track. I screamed a few bad words towards dizzo in the intense emotion of that moment. The frustration was over after a few corners, as I got myself a new goal, working my way up the field and trying to get the best out of the race. After many laps of fighting through the field i managed to get back in the top 10. I didn't want to give up until the last lap this race, so kept pushing every lap. By the end of the race i got myself into a solid third by overtaking JoseSC on the backstraight. I remember he mentioned in the client after the race that i overtook him, because he made a mistake. Well i've seen the replay and he made a mistake and i was still more than a second behind him for a while long after the mistake, while I was catching up anyway. I closed the gap and overtake him nice and clean, it was not gifted ;). As I would say to someone who overtakes me, he kicked my ass and was just faster! But that's just me :) For the rest i had a great race, lots of fights and overtaking and a result in the end to be happy with. Cheers to all the fair racers who i fought with, to many names to mention, but you all rock!" |
Conclusion:
We go over-sea from the middle east to America, to compete on the famous laguna seca track. The track is very nice, with sand run-offs. Make sure you don't get stuck in the sand! |

TJBolier on his way to P4 in Qualy © StewartRACINGIMAGES For round 3 we fly to the famous street track Monaco. With the railings near to the track, there is no room for any mistake. Who will survive, who will conquer the streets of Monaco and see the flag? In Qualify Edwards claimed pole with a time of 1.33.615. Andreas_Spengler performed strong, and claimed the second grid position with a time of 1.34.403. Third, rounding up the qualify top 3, Tonga with a time of 1.34.784.

Heat2 round the Grand Hotel hairpin © StewartRACINGIMAGES |
Walter976 exits the hairpin © StewartRACINGIMAGES The race was split into two heats of both 17 drivers. In both heats there were many close fights every lap. It was very hard to overtake someone else with the railings so close. Still quite a lot drivers managed to do it and fought their way up to a deserved result, as the qualify top 10 was reversed. Edwards had to race alone, because he had to go to Ireland for the holidays on Sunday, this probably gave him the win, as his pace defeated the time handicap to other drivers in their heats, who fought hard for position. TJBolier finished second after a strong race and long fight with JoseSC, who finished third. Many congrats to all finishers, it's a real achievement to stay focused for one hour and go under the flag.

AJYates: "In preactice to the upcoming race i didnt seem to have a whole lot of pace compared to other people. But in Qaulifying i grabbed 11th spot on the grid (heat 1), which wasnt so bad. Sunday came 7:00pm and the lights were about to go green. I got a great set off, but Tonga in front of me looked as if he almost stalled the car and got off really slow. I braked to avoid hitting him, but buattila behind me didnt have chance to brake and hit the back of me.. then at casino square on lap 1 i braked late, slightly touched the wall which slowed me and put me into a spin which buattila couldnt miss nudging me a little. This made me hit the wall and get a puncture. I slowly made my way back to the pits and got new tyre with fuel also. After the first problem i did a very well first stint with no problems and consistant times. I run up till the end of lap 16 when i pitted for more fuel, to then start my middle stint has i had planned on 2 pit stops. Still i was keeping a decent pace, Then on lap 24 Turn 4 i pushed the throttle down a little too hard and spun the car. Tonga who was pushing hard behined me couldnt avoid a hit as i spun right in front of him. Once again i got another puncture and had to pit. I got new tyres, but i forgot to change my stratagy on my fuel. This means when i came out of the pits i didnt have enought to fill me till the end of race. But besides that i got to lap 28 and clipped the inside of the wall at Turn 14 this through my car straight over and rolled it onto roof and back to wheels, this gave me a damaged car badly and a punctured tyre again and forced me to pit. Which i needed to anyway for more fuel too! Then on the last lap my rfactor minmized itself once again just like last race. i quickly put it back up and finnshed the race. So i planned on 2 stops and ended up with 4 pit stops and 3 punctures, plus a few spins and damaged body work. This must have been the worst race i have ever had! But all in all its one to remember and learn from..."

Edwards takes the lead shot by stewartgpboy For round 2 we fly to Hungary, for the great narrow, but fast hungaroring venue. This track promises a lot of close racing, fighting hard for every meter of tarmac. In Qualify Edwards claimed pole with a time of 1.44.335, only 0.085 seconds faster than Dizzo on grid position 2. balduin222 dove into the gap of a few tenths between grid position 2 and 4 with a solid time 1.44.676. Let's see what happened in the race on this great venue.

The start of heat 1 shot by stewartgpboy The race was split into two heats of both 23 drivers. The heats turned out to be excellent, great fair fights between many drivers and a lot of action all over the track. Edwards managed to grab his second win of the season with double pole, giving him a strong championship lead. Vassilis managed to get second with a great race performance! Tygernoot managed to get third while he started on the back of the grid in heat 2. Well done and & many congratulations to all!

With so many action on the grid and through out the race, you can imagine it is impossible for us to give everyone the credit in the news they deserve. That's why we got user reports. Drivers can submit their own race review and we will include it in the news. For this round we start of with:
CasH: "Short one from H2 by CasH, Started at 9th position of H2. As I had no practice or testing after Qualify, I soon found, after a bad start, that I had almost twice the amount of fuel needed! OMG! And with a one stop strategy, that would not be very handy :P. Mr. T (better not to mention his name full in here :P) hit me after two turns, causing damaged suspension, so I knew in lap one it would be a hard race! Yes, have to admit I HAD to brake early because of the extreme heavy car. Had a pretty good (well, for ME :P) best lap, but due to the handling and me being slow anyway, not the best result. Finished 6th in my heat still :). Worst part is I JUST got beaten by two fellow Admins... GRRRRRRRRR! Yes, the other OAdmin lapped me, but hι, HE IS fast ;). In short a cool race, with some close racing! Looking forward to the next! "
AJYates: "I have struggled quite a lot at this track since the first stages of practice, i don't really like the track either. But when qualifying came, i ended up 15th on the grid. i set my Personal Best time in qualifying on saturday and then in practice before the race i had my car fueled up for the race and was setting Personal Best times yet again... This made me feel a lot more comfortable for the race and seemed i was starting to get somewhere. The lights turned green and the race started. Lap 1 was excellent, i was 15th and took over 5 people which put me 10th. I had started the second lap and got half way through it when my rfactor minimized itself for some unknown reason! This had messed my race up. I quickly clicked it back on and everyone had passed me and were half a lap up. I chose a 2 stop strategy and slowly caught up to others. It was pretty much a quiet race, didn't have any battles with anyone. The only bit of fun was following Edwards for a few laps before he pitted with his warn down tyres. I had Took over some and some had DNFed. So i was in luck and gained a few places and finished around 14th in our heat. Overall after Heat 2 results i was 17th. Not bad but i would of liked to do better and probably would of if it wasn't for my bad luck with my PC! lol Look forward to next race and see you all at Monaco."
stewartgpboy: "Stewart was struggling at this Hungaroring circuit, no doubt about it. He was disappointed to qualify only 18th in his second race for the Don't Lift team. Lining up 16th on the grid in heat one meant he had a lot of work to do. He had an early scare in turn 1 when he went face to face (literally) with SRG who had been nudged into a spin, but by lap 6 Stewart was running 10th. A mistake on this lap by Stewart meant SRG could get past, to see Trick, SRG and Stewart running 9th, 10th and 11th. A few laps later, SRG was wrong footed by Trick in the final turn and Stewart saw the opportunity for a tow down the main straight. Stewart made a move into T1 taking 10th place for just a few hundred yards until he left the door open for SRG to make a repass into T2. A spin for Stewart on lap 9 dropped him down to 13th which badly knocked his confidence. Worn tyres didn't help and he had a succession of scruffy laps. His confidence was soon boosted though when he realised how many runners were on 2 stop strategies and he settled in for the long haul. Several places were made up passing people in the pits and also delaying a few of the rejoining 2 stoppers until making a pitstop on lap 17. Team Don't Lift nearly had to queue their drivers as DJCruicky was also in the pits at the same time. Thankfully the teams excessive budget meant they had enough team personnel to cope and both drivers returned to the track without delay. Stewart exited the pits in 14th position and ran together with team mates DJCruicky and Chacal for a number of laps before completing an uneventful second half of the race, passing those taking their 2nd stops to take 9th position in heat at the flag. "
JoseSC: "It was a great race after all. There where a lot of passing and a big worry choosing the right strategy that would fit this race. I started 7th and did a good start, and passed 2 guys by 1st corner ( no touches) :). By the end of the lap, I was 3rd :D, with Sean behind me. In lap 3rd I passed Buattila to get 2nd, but I did an error and Sean passed me ( it was the only way, lol, j/k). In lap 9, Mcmilan spun and I took 2nd place back. In the pit stops everything went okay. I came out 5th after the 1st pit stop. Then on lap 17 I made an error and went to the wall :(, costed me 10 secs and some places at the final results, plus a bent suspension. I had a great fight with Mcmilan after that, and I passed him with a lot of effort. Then, Mjanosh with his one pit strategy passed me easily, with new tires. At the 2nd round of stops, Mcmilan passed me and I had to pass him again, which I succeeded, great fight m8! I ended the race with TJ in my back :S Scary or? Cya at Monaco....I just hope to finish it! "
NewtyNG5: "Starting from the back of the grid of Heat1, i took it easy in the 1st turn (as most did). There was some nudging and bumping, where i managed to pass 3 of 4 cars in the confusion. In the next turn some more nudging in front, and a car span to half block the track, we all avoided, but by this time i was last again. Managed to get past a few guys again during the next laps, where i met DJCruicky. We had a 10 lap scrap, which was great wheel to wheel fun trying to get past him. Then a recovering McMilan made a move on us, we went 3 wide into T1, Mcmilan spun, and i finally got past DJ. Did my one and only pitstop on lap 18. Came out in 8th, with trick 3 seconds ahead, managed to catch and pass him on the inside of the final corners. Then a fast closing Buatilla, on a 2stop started closing. He was about 9 seconds behind with 12laps remaining, so i knew on the last lap or 2, he was gonna be on me. Some VERY close racing, rubbing and nudging on the final lap, but i managed to keep him behind > JUST!. Fun race! " |
Conclusion:
A great successul second round, with more participants, friece battles and fair racing than first round. We head to Monaco now! You can't miss this one, the ultimate challenge to perform solid here with the railing close to you. |

| We kick off the great Fanatec PCC championship on Sebring. In Qualify Edwards claimed a very strong pole, with a time of 2.04.595. Followed by balduin222 in second, only 0.458 seconds behind pole, a very strong performance. MaxMotus claimed the third grid position 0.719 seconds behind the pole man. The top 10 of qualify was reversed for the race, so let's see what happened. |
The race was split into two heats of both ~20 drivers. The battles were great and intense all over the field. Edwards did a strong race coming from grid position 10 and clinched his first Fanatec PCC victory of the season. TJBolier performed well and drove home to second with a solid pace. Vassilis came home third, by defeating AJYates in the final stages of the race. Congratulations to all!

User Reports:
With so many action on the grid and through out the race, you can imagine it is impossible for us to give everyone the credit in the news they deserve. That's why we got user reports. Drivers can submit their own race review and we will include it in the news. For this round we start of with:
MJanosh: "Hi there, 1st off all i want to congratulate Edwards on his win, must of been hard to win from back there on the gird! Another well done goes to AJY for absorbing my pressure in the late stages and for me i had a bad start few car past me and before T1 i was P5, so i took chardge and i started passing car by car so to the end of lap 1 i was P1 again and leading for another one, then i got my brother asking questions and i lost all my concetration so started droping few positions down.. i had nice fights with all and a fun race. C ya all next one ;) (where all be licking the door and noone will ask me questions :@ ) "
AJYates: (This guy is on booze!) "i qualified 10th on the grid... top 10 are reversed. This put me on pole for the race! good stuff just had to hold the drivers behined me. Hard work yes i know! So i started from pole, kept the lead for a few laps. Then TJBolier was behined me. He was very fast had great pase and had already worked his way through the field to P2. So it wasnt long before he passed me. This put me second. Again i stayed P2 for quite a few laps. Then Edwards who had got P1 in qualifying started 10th, but he is so fast and has the experience he came through the field quite quick and made a pass on me for P2 i had then dropped to P3. it pretty much stayed like this untill i made an early pitstop. Earlier than most others in the race. But with my first stint i saw that my fuel had gone down quite quick and from that i recalculated my second half and added more fuel so i knew i would finish. after coming out of the pits i was quite far away from everyone else and far down the field (about 10th) cant remember exactly. Untill about 6 laps later when all had made there pitstops, i came back through into 3rd position again. A few people behined me were faster and catching me as they had new tyres. Vassilis caught me up and took P3 away from me. I was left in 4th for the rest of the race with MJanosh catching me up till the end. It came to the last lap and he had finally got to me but couldnt make a pass. Then he dropped back a little on last corner of last lap and i finished in 4th. I found out i also ended up with 6 laps of fuel left in. So i didnt need the extra i put in when i pitted. This must of slowed me quite a lot during the race. :( But overall a decent result for me and my new team LRT."
Vassilis: "Start was quite bad as I was overcautious on the first 2 turns to avoid any problem and dropped from 7th to 13th. Sorry to buattila for moving slowly at the far left of the road, I thought I wouldn't create any problem. From there on it was all progress up, gained few places from crashes-spins and I had great racing with Marcf1, DJCruicky and Trick which I managed to pass all with a lot of effort. The round of pit-stops started and I got the lead for a while by staying out longer but it was a bad choice - lost a couple of secs on worn tyres. Rejoined 4th behind Edwards-TJ-AJYates, the latter passed him few laps later despite his defensive driving :P but TJ was far ahead so I kept a safe-rhythm drive to the finish. Gongrats Ed and cya on the next round and with hopely bigger grid!"
LulaSenna: "The race that i done will perfect... to me is same that one victory, starting in last in Heat 2, i won positions by positions. Driver Mymini do it excelent race and consistance, i tryed get the difference but my tyres over around 5 laps before finish and rest 2st place and excelent position... "
NewtyNG5: "I got off to a good start, rounded 1st bend in the lead!. Led all the 1st lap, and started to pick up some pace, i led until lap 16 where i pitted, but before that was messing with the fuel as it seemed i had far too much in. The pitcrew didnt come out to change my tyres, but somehow they got changed anyway. Off i went, to my suprise, i was still in the lead! Well i won at a canter, didnt see anyone else, and was glad to park the car, as i realised how bad tyres wear in this race. " |
Conclusion:
A great successul first round, with many cool battles and a great turn out. See you all next round on Hungary!! |

|
|
|
| Off we go for our FANATEC PCC Winter League! WITH... PRIZES!!!

|
Finally! We as F1RST3 are very proud not alone to announce the start of our new rFactor FANATEC PCC07 Winter League, but we even (thanks to Taurus!) are being sponsored by FANATEC (please visit them through the banner at top of this screen)!
So what? What does that mean for me as driver you'll think? Well, you might have seen it already at the pic above, but FANATEC will provide this specific League with BIG prizes YOU can win! Worth 1.500 Euro! More about that further on.
Our League will start soon, so please keep an eye on the schedule HERE. A dedicated server will be open 24/7 for practice already, so get your car on track!
Note that we use a PATCH, specifically made for F1RST3, approved by GSMF and tested by our real-life 2006 GT3 Champion, now GT2 driver, Sean Edwards. The patch won't cause mismatches on racecast or other Leagues!
What do I need to participate?
- rFactor 1255 F!
- F1RST3 client (free!) which can be downloaded HERE.
- PCC07
- PATCH for PCC07 by F1RST3, which can be found HERE. Just download and install.
Now some more about the upcoming League... The League will be run over 10 races, as you could see in the schedule. We have two classes: AMA, which can use all aids and EXP which may not use any aids, except clutch. NOTE: to be in contest for the prizes, ONLY EXP drivers can win! |
Now what you all want to know: what can I win?
- 1 Fanatec Racing-Seat, including their brand-new Porsche 911 turbo wheel!
- 1 Fanatec Porsche 911 turbo wheel
- 1 Fanatec Headshot Controller for serious gaming
Worth 1.500 Euro!
To keep the League exciting until the end, we will hand prizes based on the following: The winner of the championship will get a choice of the prices, mentioned above. Places 2, 3, 4 and 5 will qualify for the second price, which will be determined by a random-calculator, as well as for the remaining places 6 15 for the 3rd prize. We feel that this is a fair way for all participants. All administrators of F1RST3 are NOT qualified for any of the prices; they just have to do all the work ;).
Well, I guess this is about all you need to know for now. Just some additional info:
- Your League Admins will be TJBolier and CasH.
- Read and act according our RULES HERE.
- Check out our League Forum HERE.
- Tracks will be auto downloaded and installed when you join or host a League Track through the client! Easy as that!
Gentlemen, start your engines and beat Sean Edwards, who will be competing as well! |
