Final Round 8 - 2 Hours of Bathurst review
There were only a few brave willing to risk the danger of driving 2 hours, between the walls, and many corners on the famous great Barthurst venue.
Races like these have proven been to very special! It becomes a memory that will last for a while, because it is a long endurance race unlike any other.
Race EXP
From the 18 drivers who qualified, only 11 managed to come, 2 raced alone, and the rest pee'd their pants!
Although there were only 11 drivers on the grid, the sphere was very special, the strategy was very important,
and everyone was aimning to finishing the race.
Edwards started from pole going into corner one first, followed by a group Simulatu, MaxMotus, TJBolier,
DJ Cruicky and Nightstalk3r. This group pulled away from the drivers behind, who also formed a group, with the drivers,
Trick, Yiannis-HGT, buatilla and Ricardo. The race
was on, 2 hours. Edwards put down a strong pace, while behind him many fights were going on. It seemed Ford had
prepared their cars very well, Nightstralk3r started to work his way up with a strong pace, first passing DJ Cruicky,
then TJBolier, then MaxMotus and closed the gap to Simulatu. Simulatu and NightStalk3r would fight a long time for
postion two.
Everyone seemed to be on a two pitstop strategy. Everyone has a good set of stops, only a few had penalty, breaking the speeding limit, MaxMotus
was one of them, and dropped down to around position 6, later passing DJ Cruicky to get to position 5, down in the hunt for TJBolier who was fourth.
Nightstalk3r meanwhile managed to pass Simulatu slipping into second position, behind the leader Edwards, who had quite a gap. Simulatu did an early
second stop to make a final long third stint. TJBolier under pressure of MaxMotus with a gap of a few seconds, put down a strong pace, to stay ahead
of MaxMotus. This rapidly closed the gap towards Simulatu in third position. Around lap 45, close to the end of the race the gap was closed and TJBolier
started to attack Simulatu, after a few attempts he got passed. Simulatu was quickly under pressure of MaxMotus after that, who also managed to pass
Simulatu. MaxMotus tried to catch up TJBolier again, but TJBolier managed to increase the gap again with a few seconds in third position.
Around lap 51, Edwards had a strong lead over Nightstalk3r in second. Then suddenly Edwards got a power cut and was gone ! With the victory only
5 laps away, all he got was an instant DNF. He was very frustrated after the race, which is completly understandable, It was awful! Nightstalk3r
though, did a very strong race, and fought he was up to clinch a good second, was gifted first place and the victory, but he performed very well,
so it was a very well deserved victory ! TJBolier moved up to clinch second, followed by MaxMotus claiming third position. Simulatu on old tyres
finished fourth, followed by DJ Cruicky in fifth.
Locutus could not make it in time, and decided to race alone the next day. He did a very strong race and his time gave him the third place in
the final standings, including his time handicap!
NewtyNG5 made a great review of the EXP race, See his production below. Thank you NewtyNG5.
Race AMA
In Amateur it was a short but intensive story. Flyer23 was aimning to finish and claim the victory, therefore also winning the championship.
He put down a solid performance and claimed the victory. Coming home second was Mike_Nap, with quite a gap to the winner Flyer23, but a very
well performed race. Snakey_uk and Ianstuart had the bad luck to be disconnected from the server, and therefore resulting in a DNF. yldchld
crashed somewhere during his race and that was the end of his hopes for the championship.
Top 3 Race Results

The season is finished and all trophies are send towards the championship podium finishers. A big thank
you to all who competed in this league. It was great ! Keep an eye on forum, for next leagues polling.
See you all there !

Round 7 - Pukekohe Park Raceway
Round 7 - Pukekohe
Pukekohe Park Raceway, Pukekohe, Franklin
The penultimate round of The 2006/7 F1RST3 V8Factor Winter League sees the circus cross the Tasman Sea and into New Zealand. The 2.82km track is situated 45km south of Auckland and is widely considered one of the quickest tracks in the calendar.
EXP Qualifying Review
Edwards took his 6th Pole Position of the season with a time of 55.955 (181.43kph / 112.74mph). He was only driver to get under the magical 56s. MJanosh came second with Championship Leader MaxMotus in third. MaxMotus' nearest title contender struggled in qualifying and he found himself in 9th.
Could Edwards completed another lights to flag victory?
Edwards, spitting fire, on his way to his 6th Pole Position of the Season
EXP Race Review
As the red lights turned to green, the pack of 16 headed towards turn 1, and this is when Round 7 descended into chaos. The unlucky Zunik, lit up his rear tyres and speared across right across the track and straight into NewtyNG5. The New Zealanders then didn't have to wait long before the next panel bashing.
The unlucky Zunik lit up the rears and speared across the Track
Out front, MJanosh was under some serious pressure from championship leader MaxMotus. MJanosh cracked, albeit with some help from MaxMotus, and spun and lost 5 places dropping him down to 7th.
At the end of lap 1, Edwards led from MaxMotus with TJBoiler in third but only just.
Yiannis-HGT and TJBoiler then preceded to swap places for the next few laps until Yiannis-HGT managed to open out a gap.
On lap 8, McMilan then made an uncharacteristic mistake which saw him drop down to 10th place. However, on lap 20 the most significant overtaking manoeuvre happened - MaxMotus passed Edwards to take the lead of the race. A lead he would keep until the pit stops.
Third place man, Yiannis-HGT was the first of the front runners to pit on lap 27. Lap 31 saw MaxMotus pit and relinquish his lead to Edwards. Edwards held this lead for another couple of laps until his one and only stop on lap 33. Meanwhile, during the chaos that is the pit stop window, NightStalk3r managed to take over the lead of the race.
So on lap 35, NightStalk3r led from the recovering MJanosh, with the already stopped MaxMotus in third.
MJanosh's car gets a serious work over from MaxMotus
NightStalk3r then made his pit stop on lap 40 handing the lead over to MJanosh. MJanosh, revelling on having P1 on his pit board and not having stopped, struggled with his tyres going past their best and lost the lead of the race to MaxMotus on lap 44. MJanosh then lost second place to Edwards a lap later and would eventually retire on lap 51.
Out front, Edwards chased MaxMotus down and he made his move on lap 54. MaxMotus, thinking about the championship, gave him racing room and Edwards slipped by to take the race lead. TJBoiler set personal best laps repeatedly and passed both Yiannis-HGT on lap 48 and MJanosh a further lap later.
MaxMotus tried as hard as he could to force Edwards into a mistake but it was to no avail. So, at the flag, Edwards beat MaxMotus by only 1.389s. TJBoiler took his second podium of the season (the first one being 2nd at Sandown). Yiannis-HGT took fourth place with NightStalk3r a distinct but happy 5th.
AMA Qualifying Review
Yldchld, helped his title chances no end by taking his 2nd Pole position with a time of 57.015 (178.05kph / 110.64mph). Flyer23 came in 2nd, 0.115s behind. Mike_Nap took third position.
The start of the V8 AMA Race
AMA Race Review
Starting from Pole, Yldchld bolted from the line with Flyer23 in close company. IanStuart got another one of his typical blindingly quick start to round out the top three. It did not stay that way for long as Mike_Nap and Snakey_UK got past him.
Ford Vs Holden - IanStuart and NMansell swapped paint as they battled for Third
Mike_Nap then passed Flyer23 through turns 2 & 3. At the end of the back straight, Mike_Nap missed his braking point and slid wide allowing Flyer23 to get back by and start trying to close the gap to Yldchld. At the end of Lap 1, the order was Yldchld in 1st, Flyer23 2nd with IanStuart 3rd. IanStuart then tried very hard to keep the returning NMansell behind but then made a small error at Turn 1 on the sixth lap.
This is how it stayed until lap 10 when Snakey_UK managed to get past IanStuart. At the front, Flyer23 then started to close down Yldchld and was in a position to make several attempts but thought better of it, so he decided to wait until the round of pit stops. Third placed NMansell pitted on lap 21 but his rustiness showed as he recieved a drive-through penalty for speeding in the pit-lane. Needless to say he was not happy with this decision! Flyer23 pitted on lap 28 and then paced himself waiting for Yldchld to pit.
However, it soon became apparent that Yldchld had played his joker and decided not to pit. This meant that Flyer23 had to get a move on and therefore Flyer23 proceeded to bang out fast lap after fast lap in an effort to catch Yldchld. In the end, it proved not to be enough as Yldchld won this incredible race on his no stop strategy, Flyer23 followed 17 seconds later. Snakey_Uk finished in third with Mike Nap finishing 4th. IanStuart was the remaining classified finisher as NMansell crashed into the Pukekohe wall and damaged his suspension on lap 29.
EXP Drivers Championship Review
Following a poor result by Locutus at Pukekohe, MaxMotus has now opened the gap in the EXP Drivers Championship to 75 points. With only a total of 100 points available at the next round, all Max needs to do is score another 26 points to win the inaugural EXP Drivers Championship. Although its mathematically possible for third placed Edwards to win the title, it would be a tall order as he is 89 points behind MaxMotus. I wonder what would the Championship be like if Edwards hadn't of missed Adelaide?
AMA Drivers Championship Review
The AMA Drivers Championship is still up for grabs for three drivers. Flyer23 holds a 2 points advantage going into the final round over yldchld. Snakey_UK is a further 10 points behind. There is a total of 38 points up for grabs so who will win it? Who knows?!
Teams Championship Review
The Teams Championship is almost certainly heading towards Dont Lift as they have 1541 Championship points. LRT2 are second with 944 points and TWR1 are third with 701.
Country Championship Review
In the Country Championship, England lead the Championship with 1968 points. the Netherlands are second, a further 494 points back. The United States are third on 592.
Manufacturers Championship Review
The V8Supercars Championship has two manufacturers - Ford vs Holden. In this years Championship, Ford have scored 202 points less than Holden, even though they have had 2 more drivers complete for them. Who will win this epic contest?
With 7 out of the 8 races completed, it just leaves the showpiece of the 2006/7 F1RST3 V8Factor Winter League - the Bathurst 350km race! This is where the Driver titles will be decided.

Round 6 - Hidden Valley Report
Round 6 - Hidden Valley
Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin, Northern Territory
Round 6 of The 2006/7 F1RST3 V8Factor Winter League sees the circus move 4000km north from Adelaide to Darwin. Darwin, is the territorial capital of Australia's North Territory.
There weren't many rumours doing the rounds in the pit lane at Hidden Valley. But there was talk of NMansell's release from Adelaide prison and Edwards return, after his dad called up the organisers pleading to be let in.
EXP QUALIFYING REVIEW
The battle raged in the EXP Qualifying sessions with Edwards and MaxMotus battling for Pole Position. Edwards managed to clinch pole in the dying seconds of the session with a time of 1:06.033 (158.10 kph / 254.44 mph). MaxMotus came second only 0.034s behind with TJBoiler in third. The top 12 drivers were all within a second of pole position.
EXP RACE REVIEW
The first 5 Drivers on the Hidden Valley Raceway were all English or Dutch
As the green lights came on, Edwards made a text book start closely followed by MaxMotus. TJBoiler got the worst start because of some major wheel spin. By the time he got the first turn, he dropped two places and was fifth. But that wasn't the end to the most eventful lap 1 in the season so far. At turn 5, TJBoiler got very sideways, he managed to correct it but he had dropped another 6 places to 11th. That was pretty much TJBoiler's chance to win - gone!
The V8Factor pack descends on Turn 1
So, at the end of lap 1 the order was, Edwards from MaxMotus, Kubus in third with Locutus in fourth and Frozen in fifth.
The race at the front then began to settle down into a nice rhythm as going into the sand trap here is a killer. Locutus and Kubus were providing the entertainment out front, but even that settled down when Locutus got past on lap 3.
For the next 14 laps (3 - 17), the top 10 remained stationary. In what was probably the quietest ever V8Factor race in history, the pit stops couldn't come quick enough. That was until lap 18, Kubus made a mistake and hit the Armco. This dropped Kubus from fourth to tenth.
Another decisive moment in the race came on lap 19, when MaxMotus made an error in Sector 2 and dropped 6 seconds allowing Locutus to take over 2nd place.
The pit stops all took place, between lap 26 and lap 31. Edwards, Locutus and MaxMotus all stopped on lap 28. MJanosh stopped one lap later (lap 29).
Once all the stops had been completed, Edwards still lead from Locutus, with MaxMotus chasing hard in third.
Once again, the race settled down with all the major title contenders not wanting to put themselves at risk of not scoring.
Therefore, the drivers finished in the same order as they did when they left the pits.
TJBoiler Spent the first lap in a spin
As a result, Edwards won his third race of the season, with Locutus continuing his fine recent form with a second place. MaxMotus took the points for third place and MJanosh finished a fine fourth. TJBoiler was fifth but surely he will be rueing his lap 1 mistake.
AMA QUALIFYING REVIEW
Title contender Flyer23 took pole position with a time 1:07.157 (139.37 kph / 224.30 mph). Snakey_UK came in second, 0.227s behind Flyer23. yldchld came in third.
AMA RACE REVIEW
For our AMA race review, I'll pass you onto Snakey_UK who issued the following his race. "Turn 1, I missed my braking point whilst watching yldchld, who was trying to squeeze me out on the inside. We didn't make any contact but I ended up in gravel trap. I managed to get out quite quickly whilst ending up 9 seconds behind Mike_Nap. yldchld and IanStuart also fell in the gravel."
Snakey_UK continued: "I tried hard to chase Mike_Nap down and managed to get the gap down to 3 seconds. Until on lap 21, I began to suffer sticky downshift on my paddle shift. Therefore, I downshifted from 4th to 2nd coming into the turn 1 braking zone, which made back step out and this threw me directly into one of the barriers on the inside of turn 1. This caused some heavy damage but I manage to limp back to pits."
"I still had 5 laps more to run on my 1st stint but I felt I couldn't continue without repairs. My pit-team did a great job but I lost over 1:20 in total. The repairs, tyres and fuel took 55.4 seconds and limping back to pits cost me 25 seconds. This totally screwed up my strategy."
"On lap 27, whilst un-lapping myself from yldchld, I hit inside of turn 4/5 too hard and it spun my car onto the grass. This lost me 10 to 12 seconds. This is probably a race I should forget."
Mike_Nap won, what sounded like an eventful race, from yldchld. Pole man Flyer23 (who raced alone) took third with Snakey_UK in fourth.

2. Locutus
2. yldchld

EXP Drivers Championship Review
MaxMotus is still the leader in the EXP Drivers Championship. MaxMotus leads the Championship by 45 over Locutus. Locutus has only been outside the top 5 only once - Surfers Paradise when he finished 10th. Edwards is amazingly third in the Championship even though he missed the last round at Adelaide. This title is going to be close!
AMA Drivers Championship Review
Flyer23 leads the AMA Drivers Championship by only 5 points from yldchld. Snakey_UK is third, a further 2 points behind. In all honesty, the AMA Drivers Championship is becoming a three-horse race.
Teams Championship Review
Don't Lift are still the only team to have scored a 1000 points plus (1296). LRT2 are a distant second with TWR1 in third. I think this one is Don't Lift's for the taking...
Country Championship Review
The top nation is England with the Dutch coming in second. These two nations are the only two to have scored the magically 1000 points plus. Home nation Australia are third.
With 6 races down, it leaves only 2 remaining. The EXP and AMA titles are going down to the wire and what a better way to continue the season but crossing the Tasman Sea to New Zealand. Pukekohe Park Raceway will play host to Round 7 of the Championship. The 2.82km track has played host to some spectacular races in the past but surely with all the titles up for grabs, this one is going to be the best?!

Clipsal 128 Round Report
Round 5 - Clipsal 128.8
East Parklands, Adelaide Street Circuit, South Australia
After the barbecue comes the party and there's no better party than in the one held in Adelaide when the V8 Supercars come to town! The Adelaide street circuit was once the home to the Australian Grand Prix from 1985 to 1995 and has seen some amazing racing over the years (remember '86 ;)) on both the longer, and more recently, the shorter versions of the circuit. The Adelaide V8 Supercar race is also the only race to be inducted into the V8 Supercar Hall of Fame
The Adelaide paddock was missing one person - Edwards. An unofficial statement from Edwards stated that he missed the race because his was stopped at customs for being "shifty". Now I have no idea what that was all about but it sure hurt his Championship standings. Also, more pit lane gossip from Adelaide - NMansell still hasn't paid for the damage he caused in the BMW race and therefore he was taken to the court house for sentencing.
EXP Division Report
Only 1 driver managed to break the 1:30s mark in Qualifying - MaxMotus - with a time of 1min 29.941 (207.42mph / 128.88kph). A further half second behind MaxMotus was McMillan, and another 0.119s behind was TJBoiler. 19 managed to set a qualifying time during the heated qualifying sessions, with the stewards allowing martinwcox and Leeroy to start from the back be with a special dispensation.
After the end of Qualifying, MaxMotus was heard singing MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This" badly in his motor-home. Needless to say that his team felt totally ashamed by this and they instantly cancelled his contract with Perkins Motorsport. MaxMotus therefore had to locate a run-down Holden, which he would use for the race. One insider in the told me "That car is so old that if Max wins this race, I'll run round the circuit naked" - time would tell...
So, at 2pm the cars left for the grid, MaxMotus, who was still trying to a Holden for the race, had to watch from the stands.
McMillan therefore took Pole Position on the grid and led the pack of 21 towards the Senna Chicane. McMillan made a perfect start from Pole Position with a creeping TJBoiler in 2nd. However, TJBoiler got some wheel spin and lost his second place by the time he reached the Senna Chicane.
The Grid Minus MaxMotus - Sat somewhere in the crowd.
So at the end of Lap 1, the order was McMillan from NightStalk3r and TJBoiler. However, TJBoiler had too much alcohol from the night before, and before long he began to loose places. By the end of lap 3, he was sixth, after loosing places to Locutus, MJanosh and Frozen.
Out front, McMillan was passed for the lead by NightStalk3r - a lead he would keep for the next 15 laps. The top 4 remain unchanged until lap 11 when Locutus passes McMillan. Further down the order, MJanosh and the hung-over TJBoiler diced hard until TJBoiler pitted some fresh tyres, fuel and, most importantly, some headache tablets. By the time TJBoiler's team found the head-ache tablets, he lost a lot of time and dropped down to 12th.
ToddyTauk Crunches the Wall at the Senna Chicane
First to pit out of the front runners was NightStalk3r and McMillan. They stopped on lap 20, a lap later Locutus pitted. Locutus team managed to get him out in front of NightStalk3r. The final driver to put was MJanosh who came out in 3rd place. However, after a mistake on lap 24 dropped MJanosh down to 5th place. Needless to say he was slight miffed about that as both McMillan and the recovering TJBoiler got past.
TJBoiler then another mistake on lap 28 which caused him to make an unscheduled pit stop.
This didn't help his mood. As he pulled up, he wound down his window and hurled a volley of abuse as his chief mechanic and ordered some more head ache tablets. After all the action, in the pit lane, TJBoiler came out in 5th place.
Out front, Locutus and NightStalk3r battled hard for the lead of race but Locutus was not going to be denied. Locutus won his second race in a row. NightStalk3r finished 12.769s behind Locutus, with MJanosh another 6.015s further back. MaxMotus, who watched the race from the stands, eventually managed to race but finished in 6th overall.
AMA Division Report
With the Jailed NMansell away and a few others failing to find the way, only 5 AMA drivers turned up and qualified.
Flyer23 took pole position with a time of 1:31.925 (126.10kph / 202.94mph) with fellow American Mike_Nap only another 0.247s behind. Snakey_UK came close to displacing Mike_Nap in the dying seconds of qualifying but missed out on the front row by 0.077s. In the press conference after qualifying, Flyer23 said there might be a surprise in store for the fans - we would have to wait and see.
After the excitement of the EXP race, the AMA race was a more sedate affair. Flyer23 led the first 15 laps of the race without a challenge, until on lap 16, Mike_Nap dived down the inside of Flyer23 to take the lead. However, Mike_Nap made his pit stop 2 laps later (Lap 18) and this handed the lead back to Flyer23.
Further down the order, Snakey_UK began to claw his way back after a rotten start, managing to pass Mike_Nap whilst he was in the pits. The high point for IanStuart was jumping 2 spots on the start. After Mike_Nap and Snakey_UK got past IanStuart on lap 3, the target for him was to keep going and gain those valuable points.
Flyer23 never really looked troubled until the lap 28, when his lap times began to drastically drop. The reason? Tyres - Flyer23 decided to go the whole race without pitting. If it wasn't for Flyer23's team-mate Snakey_UK being in 2nd place, I'm fairly sure that Flyer23 wouldn't have won the race.
1. Locutus

2. NightStalk3r

EXP Drivers Championship Review
The disgraced MaxMotus leads the EXP Drivers Championship on 395 points despite not winning a race yet this season. Back-to-back winner Locutus is second in the Championship on 347 points. DJCruicky is third on 320 and the leading Independent is McMillan on 318.
AMA Drivers Championship Review
Its close in the AMA Drivers Championship - The top 3 are split by only 6 points. Flyer23 leads the Championship on 169 points with Yldchld on 164 points. Snakey_UK, courtesy of his generosity at Adelaide, is third on 163 - where would he be if he wasn't such a sportsman I wonder?
Teams Championship Review
Don't Lift are the only team to have hit the 1000 mark. They are therefore dominating the Teams Championship on 1058, with LRT2 in second place on 579. TWR1 are third on 519 points.
Country Championship Review
They may have lost the Ashes, but England are fighting back in the V8Factor League. They lead the Country Championship by 315 points over Dutch, with the Aussies another 546 points behind.
We now move onto the the famous Hidden Valley Raceway in the Northern Territory. Hidden Valley is a ripper of a track which throws every challenge possible at a driver perhaps the biggest of which is the scorching Darwin heat and humidity a factor that puts increased pressure on driver fitness. Hidden Valley features fourteen turns over 2.9 kilometres of racing tarmac.

Round 4 - Sandown - Review
Round 4 - Sandown
Introduction Sandown
We arrived in the middle of the desert, at least thats what i thought when i heard the name of the venue 'sandown' for the first time. So I arrived on a camel in the paddock dressed up like a dubai arab, no insults, but it helps good against the burning sun ! But, it took me completly by suprise, the tarmac is carved out of beautiful green strokes of grass ! I looked around and saw all these people staring at me, i quickly dumped the camel in DJCruicky's Ford pitbox and started my traditional walk to see what's new in the paddock. In the evening DJCruicky organized a barbecue and everyone was invited. I still wonder where that camel went, as i never saw it again after that evening. Anyway, pass on the barbecue sauce !
Many new faces joined the barbecue, everyone had a great time getting to know each other sharing experience and tips with each other for the upcoming weekend. Let's move on to the weekend review.
Race EXP
26 drivers on the grid eager to attack the first second gear corner of sandown. MaxMotus took the lead, and everyone behind in the pack were trading positions with each other while storming down to corner one. Everyone squeezed through, again without any mega shunt, rushing down the next chicane, flying and ramming the curbs to find their own position. In the next laps many fights developed from the back of the pack to the front.
MaxMotus was pacing in the lead, Edwards from pole had a bad start, but quickly moved up to third after overtaking & nudging Jietske, Locutus to steal their position. Frozen was in second after a great start following the leader MaxMotus, but not for long, because Edwards closed the gap and nudged Frozen also to get into second position. Jietske grabbed fourth position of Locutus and tried to close the gap to Frozen. Kubus in position 7 nudged DJCruicky in his back into a spin. DJCruicky fell back to position 8 behind TJBolier. Trick in position 9 was followed closely by McMilan who had a very bad start, unfortunately McMilan missed his breaking point, trying to avoid Trick, but no luck, and they both went into a spin on the grass, corner 1. MJanosh behind, was braking on the lights of McMilan, and he visited them in the picknick party on the grass. HarryCS starting from position 16, but meanwhile moved up in rank and grabbed position 9. Followed closely by Beukie in 10, hundted down by MJanosh in 11. So far the action of the first few laps for the top 10.
Everyone paced solid in their first stint towards the pitstops. MaxMotus was first to pit, he was ahead in the lead and seemed to have chosen for a two stopper. During his pitstop he broke all records of sandown, speeding through the pitlane with insane speeds. He was given a penalty by the marshalls, and lost the lead dropping back in ranks. Edwards took over the lead and paced on towards his pitstop. He pitted without any problem and cruised on, unlike many others. Jietske and Kubus both tried to break the speed record MaxMotus just set in the pit and were punished also with a penalty. Meanwhile Locutus moved up to second, TJBolier moved up to third, Frozen moved up to fourth and DJCruicky moved up to fifth.
After the pitstops everybody cruised home safely. Only Frozen was victomized by a backmarker and damaged his car heavily, dropping down the ranks and was forced to stop his car. DJCruicky took over fourth place, Kubus was back and recovered on fifth place!
The race finished, Edwards won the race, Locutus came in second, TJBolier followed him in third, DJCruicky came home in fourth with Kubus in fifth. After the race the track marshalls immediately reported some incidents and cutting concerning some drivers. Edwards was DQ from race, because of nudging other drivers to gain positions and cutting. Therefore Locutus who was nudged off in the first few laps by Edwards, got his deserved win with TJBolier moving up in second and DJCruicky rounding up the podium in third. Kubus got a time penalty because of cutting and nudging other drivers leaving fourth place open for McMilan. NightStalk3r came completly out of nowhere from start and worked his way up to finish a solid fifth.
Durig the press conference Locutus was filled with joy and could only smile. TJBolier and DJCruicky were planning DJCruicky's next barbecue, but were also filled with joy and camel. A well deserved podium for all, congratulations!
Race AMA
yldchld grabbed victory with a stunning time, well paced ! He raced alone and 30 seconds time handicap were added to his time, but he still managed to beat Flyer23 who grabbed position 2. Flyer23 was very dissapointed, because he speeded the pitlane and was punished by the marshalls with a penalty. Snakey_uk came in third, again gathering points for the championship and staying close to the top runners. Congratulations to yldchld for his first v8 victory in amateur. He was filled with joy, as we could hear during the press conference.
yldchld said in the press conference, "Larry was happy with the result & said that it was to be expected on the home track, even though a few niggling problems have been sorted in the car & the new team engineer is doing his bit to develope the car & make it more stable & faster through suspension tuning. There is also a new engine package in the car which is proving to have the power in a straight line that we have been lacking, this brings us up to speed with the rest of the field if not slightly in front. Would like to congratulate the boys on a job well done! ".
Flyer23 said in the press conference, "The AMA race was won by yldchld by a little over 19 seconds. Yldchld drove a smooth and consistant race to secure the victory. He now leads the championship by 3 points over Flyer23. At the start of the race Flyer23 led Snakey_UK and Mike Nap into the first corner. After the fist chicane Flyer23 was off like a scalded cat. Behind there was contact between Snakey_uk and Mike Nap resulting in both loosing ground to Flyer23. After 10 laps Flyer23 had a 30 second lead. When the first round of pit stop started Snakey and Mike Nap both went a lap down to Flyer23 who stayed out until lap 24 of the 40 lap race. During his pit stop Flyer23 was caught speeding and had to incur a stop/go penalty, which allowed both Snakey and Mike Nap back on the lead lap. Flyer set fast lap of the race on his second stint and won by a margin of over 54 seconds, followed home by Snakey_UK, Mike Nap and rounding the field was Ian Stuart. FLyer was quoted after the race 'This 2nd place is dedicated to my crew who had to rebuild my car after my crash in qualifying and limping the car to the finish. I would like to thank TWR1 for signing me this year and allowing me to run with them. I look forward to Adelaide and the rest of the season.'".

McMilan is strong on pace and climbing the ladders of the championship fast last races ! He came in third with a gap of 5 tenths on pole. From position third to eleven everyone was within 0.4 seconds, everybody tried hard to have a mega run and grab an extra tenth of a second more in their four qualify runs to gain a few places on the grid.
Qualify AMA
Flyer23 grabbed his first pole of the season ! He was jumping around with joy when the qualify ended. yldchld came in second, with only 0.070 seconds away from pole. Round 3 - Surfers Paradise - Race results
Round 3 - SurfersParadise
Race report
Are you ready ? Here we go, a thrilling race on Surfers Paradise. 25 car pack rushing down for first corner in EXP and 7 in AMA. Will everyone finish or better said survive ? Let's skip the chicken act and move on to the race.
Expert
In EXP, the field rushed down to corner 1, suprisingly no mega shunt as expected by many insiders ! Unbelievable. Yiannis managed to have a mega bad start from grid position 5, and dropped down the pack, until he got rammed from behind eliminating Beukie !
The field moved on, Edwards grabbed the lead over MaxMotus with martinwcox in third. Behind the top 3, DJ Cruicky, Kubus, TJBolier, Frozen and McMilan fought for the positions 3 to 10. Some fights ended up in tears, especially some people on the back of the pack had problems sliding trough the walls lap after lap and ended up frontal heavily injured or dead in the wall.
Many people crashed and failed to finish, however Edwards, MaxMotus and martinwcox managed to stay on top during the whole race. Edwards claimed the victory with a 11 second lead over MaxMotus. Martinwcox came in third rounding up the podium on this very nice venue.
In the press conference after, Edwards said, "race went perfectly, lights to flag victory and was never really bothered by anyone, except the odd backmarker Just kept it off the walls and cruised round at a consistent speed to win". Edwards was so happy that he left the room topless, disgusting !
When Edwards finished his interview, MaxMotus entered the press conference room, sat down, and said in a few words with his famous scottish farmer accent, "i hate chav". The room bursted out in laughing, and MaxMotus took off and left the press conference heading straight into the girl showers.
Martinwcox never showed up on the press conference, rumours state, that he is currently celebrating his podium privately with his friends and family. So far, all the attention the podium finishers deserve in EXP, lets move on to AMA !
Amateur
In AMA, Flyer23 stormed down to the checkered flag, 15 seconds in front of Mike_Nap who started from pole. Snakey_UK finished third rounding up the podium for AMA.
Afterwords during the press conference for AMA, Flyer23 had such a great story, it really concluded mainly what happened on top in the AMA race. Flyer23 said, "I started from second position, at the start I pulled alongside Mike Nap, who moved over slightly to defend position. Meanwhile Yldchld passed us both on the outside going into the first chicane. Just before the middle of the chicane I saw Mike Nap spin while alongside of me. I can only assume he was hit from behind. I tucked in behind yldchld and was chasing him down. On the second lap I attemted a pass but he defended nicely and I had to back out. On the third lap I made the pass stick and pushed very very hard for the next 5 laps. At that point I had a 20 second lead over Mike Nap who had gotten by yldchld somehow. Realizing my team had short filled my car with fuel and seeing I was not going to make it to my first scheduled pitstop I backed way off and short shifted and conserved fuel making it to lap 13 for my first stop. My first stop was originally planned on lap 14 so one lap short. I pushed again for 3 more laps and regained the lead after the others had stopped. Finding myself with a 30 second lead I coasted for many laps trying again to conserve fuel. Finally with only a handfull of laps left I realized it was going to be nip and tuck if i was going to make it so I coasted even more. The gap to Mike Nap had come down to 9 seconds and that is when I decided with 2 laps left I needed to push hard again to maintain the gap. I pushed hard and increased the gap to almost 15 seconds and coasted across the line and ran out of fuel 1/4 lap later. This was my first league victory in any series and it was a very good feeling."
Conclusion
Many congratulations to all finishers ! Everyone who failed to finish and did not end up dead, cheer up my friends, we head on to sanddown, a very nice venue waiting for us to paint the tarmac with all the power of our great powerful v8 engines. GAME ON !

Round 3 - Surfers Paradise - Qualify Results
Round 3 - SurfersParadise
Qualification report
We arrived at a thrilling track, Surfers Paradise. The walls are close and you need to cut the apex's tight to be quick. This is the race for men with big balls. After some testing, everyone submitted their qualification, let's review the top 3 of both EXP and AMA.
Expert
In EXP, Edwards took a solid clean pole, with MaxMotus claiming position 2. MaxMotus had the provisional pole, but the marshalls reported a cut on his lap, so his next fastest clean qualify attempt replaced his naughty lap, which brought him to position 2 on the grid. DJ Cruicky grabbed third with a strong lap.
Amateur
In AMA, Mike_Nap showed everyone how big his balls are by claiming pole with almost a second difference to Flyer23 who grabbed position 2 on the grid. After the two americans on top, yldchld took third and rounds up the podium for AMA.
Conclusion
The race promises to be very exciting, it requires optimum concentration. Many insiders expect a mega shunt first lap. Let's see if everyone will survive this round ! The nearest hospital is only 45 minutes away, hopefully there are no jams in the city traffic.

Oran Park EXP Race Report
R2 Race - Oran Park
THE EUROPEAN DEDICATED EXP SERVER RACE
Kubus Cruises to Take the Chequered Flag
Round 2 of The 2006/7 F1RST3 V8Factor Winter League was held at the spectacular Oran Park Raceway in Sydney. Oran Park is a pretty fast and aggressive race track in areas and certainly one of the most unique in Australia. As with Suzuka in Japan, Oran Park has a unique figure 8 configuration.
EXP Division Report:
As the red lights went out, the very strong EXP field charged into the dangerous Turn 1 on cold tyres and brakes. Pole man Edwards, lost one place to MaxMotus, and he lost another one at Turn 2 to Kubus. The rest of the field somehow managed to get around the rest of the lap without any significant panel damage.
Turn 1 saw lots of Action in the EXP Race!! It even caught out Edwards, twice!!
By the time, the leaders came round to start their 2nd lap, MaxMotus had pulled out a decent gap to Kubus. Edwards kept a watching brief behind in third. However, things were about to change! MaxMotus mis-judged his turn in, and slid wide onto the grass at the infamous Turn 1. MaxMotus rejoined in 9th place, handing Kubus the race lead on a plate.
On Lap 3, the V8Factor Driving Standards Panel woke up when Martin tried to pass TJBoiler into Turn 1. Martin got a decent run out of the final left hander, and dragged past TJBoiler down the main straight. However, Martin just left his braking a foot-or-two too late, and slide straight into TJBoiler's line. TJBoiler went into the gravel and dropped down to 11th place, while Martin carried on. Further back, McMillan hit the inside curb so hard that the car bounced and spun him around.
Yiannis-HGT, Locutus, and MaxMotus battled hard for 5th place, until Locutus dived down the of Yiannis at Turn 2 and they ran side by side until Turn 3. Yiannis-HGT locked up and ran wide, leaving Locutus and MaxMotus to go through, however, this wasn't the end to Yiannis's eventful Turn 3. As he put down the power, his rear tyres lit up, and this speared him into the wall.
Yiannis-HGT Lights up the Rears and it spears him into the Wall!
Locutus and MaxMotus kept fighting out front until a mistake by Locutus at the in-famous Turn 1 let MaxMotus through. A lap later the unflappable Edwards, made an uncharacteristic mistake and did exactly the same thing! Martin Cox was very grateful to Edwards for his error as he took 2nd place.
Martin then kept Edwards at bay for 14 laps despite the relentless pressure.
Edwards tried all the tricks in the book, such as flashing his headlights, sounding his horn, but to no-avail. Martin "Mr Cool" Cox kept his 2nd place. MaxMotus, eventually got past Frozen on Lap 11 and then tried his up-most to chase down Martin and Edwards.
MaxMotus was the first of the leaders to stop, on lap 22. MaxMotus trying to make a 2-stop strategy work for him. Race leader Kubus and third placed man Edwards both pitted on Lap 28. Locutus on Lap 29, with Martin Cox on Lap 30.
Edwards, who had managed to jump both Martin and Kubus in the pit-stops, made another error on Lap 32. This one was more costly!
MaxMotus and Locutus Battled Throughout the race
Again Edwards slid wide at Turn 1 and hit the wall very hard at the right rear. So much so, he had a punctured tyre. This extra stop put paid to any chance Edwards had of a podium place.
The rest of the race remained fairly static until Lap 36, when Kubus got past Martin Cox. MaxMotus, then came in on Lap 43 for his 2nd and final stop and dropped down to 4th. Kubus then led the remaining few laps comfortably and took the chequered flag after 55 laps and 62 minutes of hard action packed racing.
A full round-up of the Round Results will be posted tomorrow when all the results are in!!

Round 2 Qualifying - Oran Park
Round 2 - Oran Park, Qualify
Qualify
After a great round on melbourne. All teams and drivers were cleaning up their cars to get suited for round 2, Oran Park. The track is going up and down and gives you a rollercoaster experience. The key for this track is a stable setup, but yet also grippy ! Let's see how the qualify went!
In EXP, Edwards took a solid pole, with MaxMotus claiming position 2 in the final minutes before deadline. Therefore dissapointing Kubus, who jumped down to position 3. Many top drivers had the potential here to get into the top 3 on grid, but not everyone could get the perfect lap out.
In AMA, the strong performing Australian YLDCHLD, claimed pole position, just in front of Flyer23 with a gap of 0.177 seconds. Snakey_UK grabbed a solid third position on the grid.
Let's see what the race will bring us on this exciting venue.

Round 1 Qualifying - Albert Park, Melbourne
R1 Qualifying - Melbourne
Edwards Storms to Pole Position at Albert Park in EXP
MJanosh Steals Pole from under yldchld's Nose in AMA
Ed locks up going onto Ross Gregory Drive
The first qualifying session for the 2006/7 F1RST3 V8Factor Winter League has just finished here at the magnificent Albert Park circuit. This 3.295 mile circuit has been on the V8 Supercars calendar since 1993, when the Holden Commodore of Larry Perkings won the Round that year. However, Albert Park lost its Championship status in 2001 but has since run in Non-Championship form.
EXP Division Report:
Dont Lifts Edwards took the EXP division by storm and not even some last minute runs from some serious title challengers could dislodge him. Edwards rounded the circuit at an average speed of 101.71mph.
Born2Wins Lucas comes in second, a further 0.345s behind. Dodo, racing for his new team Ice Block F1, comes in third another 0.139s behind Lucas.
yldchld rounds the last turn on his way to 2nd place, just!
AMA Division Report:
Aussie yldchld was sitting on top of the Qualifying timesheets for the whole week apart from the knockings of the session, when it all kicked off. With around half an hour to go, a last gasp effort from MJanosh stole Pole Position from yldchld with a lap time of 1:59.065 (99.63mph).
However, a late run from yldchld saw him round the 3.295mile circuit in 1:58.980 but his time was ruled out due a timing error.
Snakey_UK in third and is wondering what he needs to do to get Pole position after missing out by 0.099s.
